Giffords to attend shuttle Endeavour launch

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords plans to attend the launch of the space shuttle endeavor on April 19, almost three months after she was shot in the head outside a Tucson, Arizona, supermarket, spokesman C.J. Karamargin said.

Giffords' husband, Mark Kelly, is the shuttle mission's commander.

Pray tell. What is this shuttle flight really suppose to do except wast a lot of TAXPAYER money. I could not believe some of the laziness, arrogance, and contempt workers at Johnson Space Center in Houston have for TAXPAYERS. NASA budget should be reduced by 50%.

I am very glad Congressman Giffords is doing better. Hope she makes a speedy recovery.

What wonderful news! My wife and I have just returned to Victoria Canada after spending 3 months in South Tucson. We were there during this day of infamy and saw the beautiful display of flowers & photos at the shopping centre a few days later. We are still very much affected by this shooting but we love this beautiful city & it's habitants so we plan to return again next Nov. for another 3-4 months. Gilles

It's amazing how much chatter is produced by a one paragraph "story". Likewise, the cynicism that is produced.

She is a victim and a survivor but that is not what I was writing about. I was writing about the attention she is receiving for going to watch the launch. Its not cynicism and you didnt reply to what I wrote. Its not cynicsim at all. To say she is nta victim eis absurd. There is notheing wrong it and I nver mnetioned it at all.

She is a survivor NOT a hero. Lets not use that word to freely. The Judge who died was hero . If any of you who are commenting would read a little more you would know that he put his life to save another. Thats a hero. Not Congresswoman Giffords, not by a longshot. Sorry but its true.

To those of you who are compassionate enough to wish her well, the rest of us say"thank you"! To those of you who were rude, vulgar or just indifferant, may I ask why you even bother to comment. Most people don't want to hear from you anyway. Sad isn't it?

Well i for one , was interested in her recovery. it is wonderful and fantastic, nothing short of a miracle, that she can attend the launch. what I am not interested in is what those mean spirited Repooplicans have to say. Peace out.

It's high time Dems and Libs tone down the rhetoric in Wisconsin before this happens again.
