U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords plans to attend the launch of the space shuttle endeavor on April 19, almost three months after she was shot in the head outside a Tucson, Arizona, supermarket, spokesman C.J. Karamargin said.
Giffords' husband, Mark Kelly, is the shuttle mission's commander.
What a courageous lady!
I wish her well!

How confusing yet cruel.
Excellent!
Go Gabby Go!!!
Amazing. Check out this fitting tribute to Gabrielle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gByDRWWXdbQ
Good to hear this.
By the way it is the space shuttle Endeavor not the space shuttle endeavor.
You can't expect CNN to get something as complicated as capitalization correct.
It's the space shuttle Endeavor endeavor.
Not only did they forget to capitalize it, they spelled it wrong. It's actually Endeavour because it is named after the British ship.
Or even spell it correctly.......the space shuttle's name is spelled Endeavour, as it is named after a British exploration ship.
Go Gliffords Go! I would love to point out to you people though, the important thing is the information of the story, not the grammar. They are trying to relay the information to the public in a timely manner, whether or not you find it relevant or news worthy, CNN is just trying its best.
@Mariah: I might agree, except CNN is ripe with typos and errors these days. Besides this story was posted like 8 hours ago and still isn't fixed. It's not like there are a lot of paragraphs to fix...
That's completely amazing and incredible. I am so happy for her and her husband! 😀 This is wonderful news!
Gabrielle Giffords is one incredible woman.
What a great story. Get well soon Gabby.
Yes , we can, plus together we can do anything ,and that is what frightens them the most. About time about space n life in the human race with grace.
The enemy has been defeated!!!. God will heal you completely and I expect you back in Washigton by June.
Praise be to God!!! No weapons formed against you, Gabby will prosper. You are a womderful child of God.
Please find in your heart to forgive Mr. Loughner.
Keep the faith!!
Give the hard working doctors that saved her life some credit. "God" could care less.
As a fellow human being, I wish you a speedy recovery Gabby!
God gave the working doctors the abilities they have to do their practice. Give credit where credit is due. 😉
Ha no the doctor studied his whole life for moments like those so god is still nowhere to be found, god dindnt miracle the doctor in honestly it was money
"Together we can do anything"
Maybe even spell correctly.
Paul: The doctors who worked on Ms. Giffords may have been given abilities by God, but they themselves developed them through hard work and dedication. They also developed their abilities during their combat field experience in the Iraq War – a war that a supposed "Christian" and "man of God" lied us into. If God really had the power you think He does, then why did he let Laughner commit his evil act?
she is awesome! keep goin Gabby!
Not for nothing but now 100000% of the media coverage will be about HER and not the actual launch / final mission. Great that she's recovered. But inappropriate to exploit. Very.
Nobody is exploiting anything. Her husband is the commander of the mission. Naturally she wants to attend the launch, and naturally her husband wants her there, along with family members of the rest of the crew. It is great that she will be there. If her husband doesn't mind that she will get some attention, nobody else should mind. I doubt if the rest of the shuttle crew or their families mind. Such pettiness!
He's right. They'll endlessly mention that it's commanded by Mark Kelly, husband of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who's attending today's launch, three months after being shot in the head...
Endeavor vs endeavor = same thing.
