Giffords to attend shuttle Endeavour launch

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords plans to attend the launch of the space shuttle endeavor on April 19, almost three months after she was shot in the head outside a Tucson, Arizona, supermarket, spokesman C.J. Karamargin said.

Giffords' husband, Mark Kelly, is the shuttle mission's commander.

I wish her and her well, and I wish her husband and the rest of his shuttle-mates safe passage.

I also wish some people would act with a little dignity and class and just stfu!

Having had a son go through a Traumatic Brain Injury affecting 4 parts of his brain at 26 yrs. old, we have followed the recovery of this lady closely. While our son made a recovery that amazed all the specialists (if you met him, you would not know that he had almost died), the progress of Gabriel Giffords is nothing short of miraculous. Knowing that the first 6 months is normally the period when most of the recovery of the damaged parts occurs, we pray she continues to progress at this rapid pace. We also pray that someday she may once again take her place in your government 's Congress. We know from our experience that recovery is based on the strength of character of the affected person, the depth of love, support & encouragement they get from those around them & patience because every step back is slower than we would like. Rep. Giffords & her husband are truly remarkable people whom we all could stand to emulate in so many ways.

I have a feeling that Moose is a troll. Don't fall for his rhetoric! The best way to deal with a Troll is to ignore them.

Today, Wisconsin goveror Walker said that Giffords is like every other Democrat who won't show up to work and should be fired.

"Mr" (and I use that generously) Moose. She is no more, nor no less a person than anyone else.....we simply hear more about her given her achievements & position. Most of us, if hearing all the others stories, would be wishing them all the same. Knock that chip off your shoulder pls!

It's fine that she's going to attend the launch but don't expect to see her on camera. She will not appear as she does in the photos before the shooting. I have seen this kind of injury where a portion of the skull is removed. Since the skull is what gives the head it's shape it can be hard to take for some people. They may cover her head to hide this.

This is the most wonderful news. She is such a strong woman. I hope the animal that tried to end her life sees how well she is doing while he sits behind bars until his last breath. It might not be justice for the shooting victims that died that day but knowing that he must be so angry that Gabby survived and is doing SO well will eat away at him every day of his miserable life.
