A suspect accused of killing a Georgia police officer and wounding another one surrendered to authorities Friday night after a hostage standoff.
The incident was captured by television cameras as officers arrested suspect Jamie Donnell Hood in Athens, Georgia.
Earlier Friday, Hood released four of eight hostages. It is not yet known how long the hostages had been held or if they had been harmed.
Hood is wanted in connection with Tuesday's slaying of Senior Police Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian, 34, and the wounding of Senior Police Officer Tony Howard, 43.

@Kim: Agreed. Every race bands together against each other while stabbing their supposed "brothers" in the back. You hit the nail on the head.
Speaking of jokes.....After Obama was elected president, the stock prices of Bed Bath and Beyond went up over 100%. Do you know why? They had a run on white sheets! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha...White is right!
the blind leading the blind..
Another bald headed black man great.
Seriously, what he did was wrong, regardless. And some of those hostages were innocent young children. Idiot! I say they shouldve never even attempted to negotiate with him. Put a SWAT sniper in place, and let him do his job. End of story and alot of taxpayers dollars saved.
I agree
What amazes me is when an officer is shot and killed. The effort that is put towards finding the killer. If only they put this much effort in every case we wouldn't have any crime in this country. I had a friend killed over 10 years ago. When the family contacts the police department with new information on the case. The police act like they're being bothered. After 6 months after the murder. The case went into a file and has been classified cold. The family has been the only ones doing any work on solving the murder.
Indeed, so well said. I concur fully without doubt or hesitation in any way whatsoever beyond any trace of skepticism.
Its craZy
So this guy commits a murder against a police officer then proceeds to stay in the same town he commited the murder in? Not exactly the brightest criminal I've ever read about.
