Montana Radio Shack offers free gun or pizza with satellite TV purchase
A Radio Shack owner in Montana has upped foot traffic at his Hamilton store by offering free guns for new satellite television subscribers, according to a local paper.
Fear not, those opposed to gun ownership and those who might fail background checks. You can have free pizza instead.
The sign says it all: “Protect yourself with Dish Network. Sign up now. Get free gun.” (The real marquee has no periods, so I took a little punctuative license.)
Owner Steve Strand told the Ravalli Republic that the promotion “really, really fits the Bitterroot Valley,” while manager Fabian Levy told the newspaper that the gimmick had “been really successful.”
Strand said the promotion, which began in October, has tripled his business and lured hundreds of people curious about the sign. Only one person who “didn’t understand how it works” has reacted negatively, he said.
“We have people literally stop in to take pictures of the sign,” Levy added.
Simply sign a contract, purchase certain equipment, set up an installation date and congratulations! You could be the proud owner of a Hi-Point .380-caliber handgun or a 20-gauge shotgun from Frontier Guns & Ammo, which is just north of town.
If you don’t want a gat or can’t pass the background check (which the Republic reports is also free with the satellite TV subscription), you can still have a $50 Pizza Hut gift card.
Strand told the newspaper that other Radio Shack owners in the state were too scared to follow his lead. Even Dish Network had its doubts but agreed to the idea after months of talks with Strand, the newspaper said.
“They've never had a gun promotion before, so they're a little nervous about it,” Strand said. “It's been an uphill battle with Dish.”
Only a bunch of "white trash" rednecks would take advantage of this offer. I can't believe the corporate offices at Dish and Radio Shack actually gave their blessing to this promotion.
Guns are just fine when the person is of sound mind. I would rather have a gun to protect myself as to have some moron whinning cuz he just got robged, shot or family member killed by some low life thug who never worked a day in his life but feels its ok to do harm to me or my family. You betcha I have guns and would get more if able . If you dont like guns but not everyone who owns one is some dumb redneck . your and idiot for even making that remark. Ok, that "sound mind" comment has made me rethink my position: Could anyone who signs up for Dish Network really be of "sound mind"?
We are not racist in Montana. Whites, Blacks, Hispanics, etc. We live in harmony and love our countryside with little crime. Yes many of us tote firearms and that does not make us "Whit trash" . Maybe education is the key? I grew up being taught to respect firearms and weild them safely. It is legal and we do it safely!
We all make life choices, including the ones which say na...no way !!! Thank you, no. I've got more gas to buy now. Or I'm part of the working poor, and I cannot afford this kind of thing. The satellite people "will not" work with you. They will help ruin you, and thats about it.
They know that violent programming is what you prefer and assume you like guns.

Oh you poor sheeple out there going to work 9-5 believing everything you hear on the t.v.. There are some people out there that have careers that have them working at odd hours. The self employed tend to work long hard hours sometimes real early or running late into the night to get things done or started. If they have to do that in areas that aren't so safe,, more power to this type of advertising. LOL It's nice to see a products aimed at a consumer that doesn't live the life of sheep. Think outside of the normal. Oh I'm sorry, sheep don't speak as individuals or with creative thought. Go back to work sheep and let us add color and enjoyment to the world.

This is for those who are againest guns – If you dont like guns thats your choice but with more violence in the world these days the nice neighborhoods are now bad. I would rather have a gun to protect me and my family as to let some thug take me or my families life.. Life means nothing to these thugs anymore.. They kill everyday just for a few bucks they robbed off some elderly person .They kill anyone just for the thrills. If you dont want the gun then dont accept it but dont down grade someone who wants one .. Bet you will wish you had a gun when something happens to you or someone you love ...
Abby's last sentence was quite to the point: Remember the LA riots after the Rodney King verdict. Thousands of liberals ran to the gun stores to get some protection, and were very rudely surprised when they found out that the 15-day waiting period applied to them as well. A lot of people changed their minds about the idea of a waiting period after that.

Guns for satelitte , Im a Montanan myself about 65 miles from there. I almost got Dish, they have a good picture
but no on demand like my cable has. I also have internet on cable so I would end up having to pay for both.
I would like a rifle but dont shoot that often now that Im retired so its not worth to change service

The way these criminals are busting into our homes we all needs a gun. I guess im going to get my dish and a gun. Im a black contractor and had to buy 22 metal door for an apartment complex in Atlanta Ga. Im not gonna put bars on my home so I protect it with a gun and thats that. Guns dont kill anyone crazy criminals do.
