It took him six hours and a lifetime to do it, but French daredevil Alain Robert climbed the world's tallest building Monday evening.
"I've climbed the second-, third– and fourth-tallest buildings. All that is missing is Burj Khalifa," Robert, known as "Spiderman," told Gulf News before beginning his ascent of the tower in Dubai.
Robert sometimes gets arrested for trespassing while conquering tall buildings, but this time he was an invited guest.
The 2,717-foot climb, which started at 6 p.m. and ended at midnight, was a highlight of the 10th Education Without Borders conference, attended by 2,000 international students, Gulf News reported.
"I'm doing this to show the students there is no edge or borders and to inspire people to break the mold and not limit themselves," Robert told Gulf News. "Part of my message is not only to follow your heart but try to innovate in all things you do."
Well, it just seems kind of stupid to me.
Spider-man or Daredevil, which is it. Can't be both super heroes.
Climbing it is about as stupid as building it.
hero not a hero Who gives a damn?
Don't worry, Cliff. Many of us suffer from the "Kings Speech" syndrone.
