Mark Bittman fast CNN News 8:18 am EST: Why be a piker with a simple week fast: Take a vow to live a live in poverty, and learn to live like a Pastor,Rabbi, Church Elder, Bishop or Cardinal, who, unlike Jesus Christ, take a financial collection at a religious service rather tthan give out bread loaves and fishes to the hungry. And where did the Apostles and Christ get the money to pay for their last supper if they were all unemployed?

Mark Bittman fast CNN News 8:18 am EST: Why be a piker with a simple week fast: Also, when you take a vow to live a life in poverty, you discover quickly that you have nothing for the needy. And life becomes nasty, brutish and short for you and the poor unless....you have a church for receiving weekly collections of money, for receiving legacies to the Church from dead members, and profits on investments managed by Wall Street Fat Cats. Taking a vow to live in poverty is against the religion of Wall Street & investment Bankers. And that's the rub.
