Chatting on news blogs. Is that a good thing or a bad thing. People reaching out or people just lonely? Odd people or people not giving a hoot about news. I'm Jessica Sue Smith NBC,reporting. Watch full report Friday evening 8:00 P.M. EST.
I look at it this way: In my day-to-day life, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find people who enjoy and are eager to discuss sensitive issues. "I don't talk about religion and politics" is kinda how many people are. But not here. There are lotsa people here whom regularly discuss these things openly. How is it even possible to delve into these topics here and NOT get personally involved? How is it possible to NOT make friends here? And friends enjoy the ebb and flow of a lively discussion. We don't come here because we're lonely. We come here to discuss the news with our friends and any strangers that pass by. But being friendly, we'll discuss just about anything, especially if it's off topic! (much of todays news is alarming...even overwhelming. So it's nice to get away from it from time to time, even while we are here!)
