Clinton: Gadhafi must go before NATO airstrikes stop

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi must leave power and Libya to stop the NATO military strikes in the country, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said.

"I don't think there is any mystery about what is expected from Mr. Gadhafi at this time," Clinton told reporters on Wednesday.

Earlier, Gadhafi urged U.S. President Barack Obama to end the NATO bombing of his war-torn country. Gadhafi made the appeal in a letter, a senior administration official said.

They say they were striking abidjan to protect civilian but many of them died during their strikes. Many are still dying there because they cant go to hospital or can't even have food to eat. Because they are supporting this war. But in the meantime they have taken their citizens far from the battlefield leaving the ivorian only endure their strikes. That's democracy.

I know that everyone always points a finger at America because we are the biggest guy in prison, but this is a NATO action. Other countries that are memebers of NATO include:

Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom

Why doesn't anyone want to take a stab at Albania?

America is funny lol they watched so many dictators, gave monny and eat lavished dinners with them yet they are bombing the only arab country that persecute terrorist. And, if matters weren't as worst, their own economy is falling and the debt is getting fatter and fatter, american people are in trouble, unemployment is huge and foreclosure are skyrocketting, poverty is prevailing yet (funny) the american government is spending billion on war on other countries and not on its people. I am just wondering how the bureaucrats do their calculation. I though in america, it was government for and by the people.

Now lets just imagine (in dreamland maybe) America spending half that money on american for education and health and pension or debt relieve for the ones who had their home foreclosed.... Well, I am not american but just saying lol. I just think it's weird and I had to write about it. Thank you.

Well, you're wrong and you're right. We never know what the real reasons are for anything, just what they release for public consumption. I am sure there are many behind-the-scenes meetings and plans that went on and are still going on. Meanwhile, we can feel pride in being humanitarians.

No you're not,Jim. The right-wing thugs in Washington just managed to pay off some of the members of the U.N. and that makes me sick!

    Mr. Moammar Gadhafi,
As an American citizen, I am truly sorry that the personal agenda of our current secretary of state, Queen Hillary Clinton dictates USA policies, and regretfully, your country is targeted as a result of Queen Hillary's agenda.
Please note she has a rather serious problem with the male gender, and I attribute this to past events between Bill and Monica.
I truly hope that our congress cuts off funds for the operation, and that issues affecting your country can be solved internally.
    May Allah be with you

HIllary didn't care one whit about Monica, but she did care about the political mistake her husband made. She is a political animal and that is what the US needs right now. It is not the time for a leader who is weak-kneed and CHANGEable at every turn.

All the more reason we need Libyan oil. But actually oil is like gold it does not matter where it comes from, controlled by a cartel – OPEC, we just need it – can you believe we sell Texan oil? We do.

The main excuse today is civilian. UN said 400 of people including military died mainly because of Gbagbo so they must destroy his weapons that's fine. But when within 5 days 800 of people are reported killed mainly by Ouattara forces they say he -Ouattara the one accused- must make investigations. Nonsense. Sometimes we must read between the lines when they dont like you they dont like you.

@Arran Webb: Might as well bomb Best Buy, Macy's, Apple, Foot Locker, K Mart and any other large chain too. Many groceries aren't even grown here. That's ok Michael Moore didn't zero in on those stores, so it's ok to ignore them. Why have a mind of your own right? Thinking is hard I know.

It is not necessary that everyone agree with me on this issue. I see that many at this site do not, and I respect their opinions.
I completely support Clinton's statement and Obama's actions in Libya.

Come on Joey, are you really that stupid or are you just trying to be funny here? Anybody with half a brain or any sense of morality knows that Clinton is wrong. That broad turns my stomach upside down!!!
