Block party: Brazil builds world's tallest Lego tower

Move over Chile, Brazil has just finished building the world's largest Lego tower.

Standing at 31.19 meters the tower in the city of Sao Paulo breaks the previous record set in Santiago, Chile, in 2008 by 25 centimeters.

Brazilian former footballer Cafu was responsible for attaching the last piece of the tower, which was built in the parking lot of a shopping mall.

Lego sent  designers from Denmark to Brazil for the event, the company said on its website.

The tower took four days to build.

The first Lego tower was built in London in 1988 and stood just a little over 15 meters, according to Lego. Since then 53 cities have hosted the tower in more than 30 countries.

    Why do they always do this in the biggest city? At least outside the U.S. We don't always do everything in America in New York. Thank goodness we actually do have an interesting country! I guess there's nothing else in Brazil but Sao Paolo. I would like to see something of the rest of Brazil or Chile. Do they actually have a country? Or is it just 1 big city and a million square miles of jungle!

    Good Morning banasy,

    I too *find* it funny that you can reach a *conclusion* so quickly about me. I'm not trying to *pretend* to be anyone and does it matter if I was? I'd say, quite frankly, the majority of folks on here are, in some way, *pretending* to be someone. Who knows, I *could* be someone from CNN, I *could* just be a independent consultant, I *could* be someone at FB, I *could* be Jesus. The word *pretend* is a *complete* oxymoron when it comes to these forums.

    Now, we can also *discuss* the vapid *use* of the word poser. Obviously, you *were* calling me a poser. ***Shrug*** . Which, again I *find* very funny due to the way these forums are setup. I think it would be *very* appropriate to say again that the vast majority of folks here are posers. But, maybe it's my *misunderstanding* of the word poser. I've hear my teenage children use that word very frequently and it always has *perplexed* me on what it *really* means. Maybe, we are *all* posers in this world? Eh?

    Also I sincerely appreciate your *invitation* to address you directly, as I am currently doing. I wouldn't do it any other way. I would *hate* to invoke the wrath of banasy on me. 😉 I may be perceived as to *being* new to these boards, and perhaps that's true and perhaps it's not. Does it matter? Is there some type of *initiation* rite of passage one needs to complete before being *part* of these forums? I am here to share my opinions and would much prefer to stay *OT* – on topic. I'm, *personally* not seeking acceptance or friendship. I prefer sharing my views but *much* more importantly *learning* from what other's have to say about a subject. Well, that's just my approach, life to me is all about learning.

    And I dare say in my *most* very polite way, that the last thing I *seek* is your forgiveness. I *appreciate* your kind offer of it to me but I politely *don't* need or want it. Telling someone you don't know, in advance, that you will forgive them strikes me as a *condescending* thing to say to someone. However, it's so hard to tell what that meant, peering through a computer monitor.

    Anyways, hopefully we can strike a balance here and mutually respect what each other has to say. And I must say again, that I really don't *care* who I am perceived to be. Hey, maybe it's *even* someone positive (wow, positive not negative? – imagine that!). Maybe, I'm just a part of the "we" mindset who cares. Not to be confused with the YWDC. 😉

    Oh, finally I liberally used these *** things but really don't understand what they mean and the need to use them. I am going to consult with my fifteen year old daughter tonight to get a clear understanding of the proper usage of these ****'s. My oh my, the things children use to converse on the internet... 😉

    All the best banasy,

    James

    Hey james, you better care if banasy forgives you, everybody on these boards loves banasy, you are playing with fire and hell, I don't pray (The Devil does not pray) but you should pray that banasy accepts your speech, otherwise, you would have Satan against you.

    @Lucifer,

    He's back.. ;-(((((

    I like banasy too, truth be told.

    Hey, even a four year old knows that Lucfier, Satan, The Devil is nothing – ***ZERO***. Everyone (including that four year old) knows his words are hollow, false and utter nonsense. He is so insignificant, lower than a whale's t/urd on the lowest point of the ocean.

    In fact, I've made a mistake by responding to the lowest of lowest of lowest of lowest... This will be my last time. From here forward, he will be IGNORED, he is not worth anything. I'm sure he will continue to taunt with his foolishness, hollow, fake words. But they will be invisible to me. Bye, bye Mr. Nothingness.

    @YesWeDoCare:

    Good afternoon, sir. I trust your day is going well.

    If you read your first post, posted on several threads, one could only deduct that your comments were directed at *me*, as they addressed many comments that I made. If I am in error, and I don't think I am, then mea culpa.

    Secondly, your post addressed the meaning of *Facepalm*. So, then, your assumption in telling me that I'm impolite for using a phrase you don't even know the meaning of is in itself just as condescending to me as what you are accusing me of. Which was a joke, by the way, as evidenced by the 😉 after it. Which you yourself used after chastising me for using *Facepalm* in the first place.

    Third, the * is used to emphasize a point, because I am on a phone that does not have the capability of either italics or underlining. I also don't want to use all caps, because I don't wish to be perceived as shouting, when I am not. It is also used as a way the highlight the word, as in *Palmcheek*, when the word is used as a one word sentence.
    Perhaps asking your fifteen-year-old is a good idea. It might be useful to you to ask the meaning of some things before criticizing them online. If you truly want to make online blogging a better experience for everyone because you care, perhaps caring enough to find out what one is talking about before commenting and/or criticizing it would be a good place to start.

    Last, you are correct in saying you don't care whether I forgive go or not, and that's it's irrelevant. It *is* irrelevant to *your* blogging experience. And, correct again, it doesn't matter how long one's been on the boards. I was trying, and failing, to make a joke to you. I understand. However, it's a tad bit hypocritical to start off your blogging day by taking my attempts to tell people when I'm going off topic, (which I am doing to try and improve other's online enjoyment, so they can go to the next post) misjudging *Facepalm*, talking about the attempts to correct the multiple u/n's to prevent trolling,going off-topic yourself, and then repeatedly saying it's because you want to stay on topic and that you care. Well, maybe you do. But don't be surprised when one calls you out when you make contradicting statements, going off-topic *yourself*, or make assumptions that aren't true. And don't get defensive, either. Because that *is* what a hypocrite is.

    I have no quarrel with you, sir. And I'm not going to address this any further. And perhaps *I* work for CNN.

    Sincerely,
    banasy

      @banasy,

      I apologize. The original several thread post was in no way, at all, directed towards you. I appreciate your reply, please let's move on from here. I like your comments and style and I am being sincere.

      I won't say any more. I have been formally threatened by Lucifer to not speak to you. He freaks me out, seriously.

      I meant no harm.

      Peace

      James

    news worthy! Bravo to the Brazilians who at least chose to build something of record breaking. Construct baby, not bomb and destroy! :). Hey, Cafu was my second favorit player in the final a Paris in the world cup. Zidan son of africa was my No1 for beating the best football nation and always favorite to win any game in the world. Nice job Cafu! Loved the way you ran, ran, and ran from defense to the french camp trying to push for redemption in 1998 cup. Good you're still a leader even off the field. Every nation needs your kind! 🙂

    Definitely imagine that that you stated. Your favourite reason appeared to be at the net the simplest factor to remember of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed even as other folks consider worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the entire thing without having side effect , other people can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thanks
