Police trying to hunt down a suspected serial killer found a ninth set of remains Monday on Long Island, New York, a county police officer said.
The remains - located about five miles from eight other sets of human remains found since December - include a human skull, according to Lt. Kevin Smith at the Nassau County Police Department.
Another set of remains found Monday also appear to be human, he added, though that assertion has yet to be confirmed by the medical examiner's office.
Why can't we all just get along?
My sentiment exactly. Bet these bodies are not of all one killer but multiple, since it could be a popular spot to dump bodies. Just a thought.
OT
Greetings, Jazzzz, if that's who you are today.
I have always been Jazzzzzz , say it Jazzzzzzzzzz , LOL. I am just doing PEACHY. just waiting for my too long hair to dry, then no more blogging for awhile Mary. This is how I sound when I am toooooo tired.
Hey Joey! How was your day!
@Joey: Some people have way, and some people... Not have way. If it is one guy, he'll probably be caught trying to find a new stash spot. I do think once they catch him, they should go news-silent, we don't need to even know his/her name. Just say 'we caught the sicko' and we never hear about it again. That AZ idiot is still getting off on being famous.
@lee, but you know it will never happen that way.
Yes, i know. Thus, more sickos will seek the notoriety they deserve because daddy didn't hug them enough..
From full article:
Lt. Kevin Smith of the Nassau County Police Department said the skull was found around 3:30 p.m. in Oyster Bay. About four hours earlier, a New York state police officer and his cadaver dog spotted another set of remains about a mile and a half away, and authorities worked to determine whether those remains are human.
"It's just been very startling, all of it has been," Smith told reporters Monday. "It's just amazing that we're finding these things. Obviously, we have a lot of work to do."
sounds like this smith guy is happy about this? "startling" and "amazing"? how about "disgusting" and "disturbing". these guys should have been more on top of this after they found the first bodies. with bumblers like smith, it seems like these guys will never get a handle on who this sick, twisted individual is....
Though it isn't mentioned in this article the suspect may be a cop or former cop, which doesn't surprise me a bit. Knowing a few here in Texas. Some citizens might belive that bs that people become police officers to protect and serve, which may be true for very few. The majority become cops because it is a job which they think makes them above the laws that they are to uphold. Though these examples of fictional movies I've had former classmates and friends that entered law enforcement and are no different then the crooked characters in Training Day, Harsh Times and Street Kings. Also with the us against them mentality, people in law enforcement don't only think they are above the law but better then the average citizen.
When I first heard about this sad (for families) disturbed (preditor) someone said that one of the girls showed up on the porch of a neighbor asking for help, he called the police and she was gone. If she was on foot wouldn't she be in close proximity, maybe the perpertrator is a neighbor? If the profile is a police officer are there any in the neighborhood that may be able to see his trophies from his property?
Has anyone checked O.J. Simpson's whereabouts lately?
Just sayin...
only in jersey.
Sound about right that this may be a dumping ground...I did notice that they are termed as "remains" and not necessarily those of women exclusively. I could be wrong, though, because I really haven't been following this story too closely, except peripherally.
Damn. Just damn
