The National Basketball Association fined Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers $100,000 on Wednesday for "offensive and inexcusable" comments he made during Tuesday night's game, the league said in a statement.
Every work place has a code of conduct. I suggest, if you'reemployed, gfo to work tomorrow ad call ypour boss or asuprvisor a f-g f-g-t and see what that gets you.
Kobe knows the rules. He knew the consquences.
Too bad I have to go to TMZ to get the comments he made. Thanks CNN!!! They also broke it down. He made $48M last year incl endorsements. A $100K fine is the equivelant of a $120 fine to someone making $60K
They don't know what he said until the uptight NBA reveals what he said, dummies. Kobe didn't say it into a mike, and he certainly isn't going to repeat it.
Yeah, about that. You may be shocked to know this, but people who speak a language fluently (English, let's say) can, if the atmospheric conditions are just right, watch a person's mouth move and make an educated guess as to what they just said. I doubt that that sort of trickery would work here since only one or two people saw Kobe's lips move, but it might help out in other cases where there are actual witnesses.
Not even ESPN is offering up what he said, but I take it from sly references that the word he used is that magic word we all learned from "Bull Durham."
I think it's a bit insensative using that word on tv in anger given the persecution they suffered in the past, but at the same time they kind of lost all credibility when they tried to bully everyone about that Vince Vaughn movie so I'm apprehensive about supporting these special interests in anything at this point.
Every time you give them a victory you're just handing them more power to shove their agenda down our throats.
I do not approve of fear mongerring.
Today on the "You Know, That's A Good Question!" show...
Why is it that whenever any gay person anywhere asks for something suddenly that one person speaks for all of "them?"
Why is it that whenever someone says gay people should be allowed to marry the very next thing you hear is a straight person saying "so can I marry my dog now?"
Why is it that when someone says "that's so gay!" and a gay person says "saying that 'gay' means that something is bad really isn't cool, you know? Could you not do that?" then every gay person everywhere has no credibility and is a bully?
And why is it that when gay people say audacious things like "hey, that whole 'equal civil rights under the law' thing sounds kinda neat. Could we get some of those?" then there's immediately a lot of totally %100 hetero guys who just *totally* love women going on and on about "shoving things down my throat!"
Well I just thought that if a person has enough money they can do anything they want. Just like the criminals in big business and finance. Just like the power pushers who work behind the scene to do anything they want and get whatever they want eventually with a little cash. I but I did this in public, SORRY!!! I'll spit where no one can see me next time and keep my cherished image in the piblic eye!

so much for "free" speech
So much for knowing the text of the First Amendment and the difference between Congress and the NBA.
Sure. SO I guess he wouldn't have minded if the ref yelled back at him N*gger right?

And Kobe's not from the ghetto, he grew up in Italy.

If you want to distill the news down to the issue (Not necessarily the coverage per se) of what is important, watch the daily show.
He stated you white folks ARE really dumb-a**es for paying us so much to play a stupid game

Wow, and all he said was: "That piece of Halibut was good enough for Jehovah."

So what was so offensive and inexcusable?? The special interest monority get offended again?
You sign a league contract, take league money, you eat the league fines. Doesn't matter why... it's contractual, end of story.
Stupid!!! What did he say? I think we are all old enough to hear it! or Read it! Or is it not politically correct! If NOT the latter, shame on us!!
