Wow! Y'all are acting like he said it directly to the ref's face! If the camera man would have kept the camera on the game & not watch Kobe go to the bench, this would have never been a big deal! Get over it people!

You've got to be kidding me. I'm no fan of Kobe, but saying something only lip readers could see and what is probably said 100 million times a day by normal people is a bit excessive.

I totally agreed. That's why David Stern and the NBA is f*&*ing GAY! Or, maybe stern is GAY and took it personally.

Blacks and whites to use the n..... word. But if you really know the meaning it's a low down dirty and ignorant being, etc. Both races can be both, but as you know during the colonial invasion of ones land, the Europeans use that word religiously to their slaves and people of a darker skin. And they used the n..... word because they thought blacks were ignorant when it was really them that was. Reversed psychology. Blacks use the n.... word religiously now to each other, also it mentally affected them that they think it's normal behavior to call or approach one that way, see what damage has been done in more ways than one. Abolish the n..... word. The word has been used to now as a slang e.g. like friend, enemy, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc. I don't care if black or white you are not going to call me a n..... and think that it's okay.

I bet he gains more from this than if he paid $100K to some advertising company. He's getting a lot more free press than $100K could buy.

This will get Kobe stoked for the playoffs, but probably means he won't get a call again even if he is knocked into a coma. Such is the way of the world.

This is political correctness gone mad! I wonder if they would have fined him, if the camera had not caught him mouthing the words. The man made the comment under his breath. I understand being sensitive to others feelings but this has gone too far. Pretty soon they will fine you for what you think!

Whaat!! For saying that. If the announcer had not said anything there wouldn't have been much made about it ...How many times have we read an athleteslips in anger on television and he /she wasn't fined .. I'm not saying this isn't right . But it isn't fair..And Gilbert Areanas brings a loaded gun to work and threatens his co-workers and he is still playing???? What A Joke!

Who cares!! Rappers call each other ni**ers in songs and they dont get fined, but if a white person calls a black man a ni**er it is called a hate crime...so stupid...Kobe was just in a mad state so he should be able to say whatever her wants...if a gay person is really offended by that than its just sad, have a little more confidence in yourself. People always make gay slurs and they dont get fined, by doing this to Kobe it is just going to make people say more things like this!
