Report: China stealth fighter makes second test flight

China has had a second test flight of its J-20 stealth fighter jet, according to a report from the government-owned newspaper Global Times.

Under the headline "Mystery jet 'flies' again," the paper cited witness accounts that the jet flew Sunday in Chengdu as part of celebrations of the 60th anniversary of China's aviation industry.

The flight lasted almost an hour and a half, an unnamed witness told Global Times.

"The J-20 made several passes and waggled its wings (rolling the plane first to one side then to the other) to salute the crowd near the airfield," Global Times quotes the witness as saying.

The J-20 "has been touted as a potential challenger to the U.S. Air Force's F-22 Raptor, the world's only fifth-generation fighter jet," Global Times said.

The J-20 made its first flight in January as U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates was visiting China.

Yes they do! The F-22 and F-35 is capable of supersonic cruise. If you are thinking about the F-117, it has been retired from service.

They should put a Sticker on the side that says, "Stolen from reverse engineering a US downed Raptor. We in China pirate everything, that is what we do cause we are too stupid to have any original ideas!"

Chinese invented a lot things, you idiot. Paper, gun powder, compass and so on. Has any body paid Chinese for their invention and copy right? When Chinese were civilised, your yanky were still live in the caves.

Looks amazing like ours! I wonder if a line-x spy chain is in place here? It worked with the idot russians. The Chinese are not innovators either so it would not surprise me in the least. Anyway, which movie clip will they be plaing this time? Perhaps a stolen youtube video? Who knows as the chinese know no bounds when it comes to knock-offs or copies.

The Russian and Chinese aircraft are still years behind the US technology. There's far more than pretty looks when it comes to aircraft design. Let's not forget we only know a very limited amount about our aircraft industry and what's in the works. The Skunk Works succeed in developing the SR-71 and U-2 in secrecy and I would venture to say we only know a small portion of what's in the works. Rest assured the government isn't going to leave us vulnerable and they could care less that we aren't kept in the loop about what's going on.

I may not be able to answer your question above, but the call name you're posting under is quite hilarious. I feel the way it sounds. Hopefully with the development of this new aircraft by the Chinese, the right-wing thugs in Washington will be more reluctant to get us into another one of their obnoxious wars.

I was going through the comments and laughing with my butt. China have scared Americans to the point they s*** there pants. Don not be afraid my dear american friends. The last thing that china wants is a war with USA. Because USA is there major market. What can China win by going for a war with USA? They will loose everything. even if they win a war.

Major threat from this stealth fighter is directed towered India. But not by the means of using it for attacks. But just showing the technical superiority.

Also the other reason for china to do this kind of thing is to distract Chinese people from real problems that they have.

Hard to get frightened by what is basically 25 year old technology for the U.S., just being developed now in China. China just recently was able to place a guy in a capsule in low earth orbit. Even the U.S.S.R did that with a dog 50 years ago. (Yawn). What does China have now? An I.O.U. written on a piece of paper for U.S. debt. Pretty good deal I say.

Same size? Same materials? Same electronics package? What about the Russian T-50? They're looking at producing 1,000 of them with India, and exports of around 600 to other countries. The Soviet Foxbat looked a lot like the F-15, but they were different creatures. There are very similar looking aircraft to the F/A-18 AIr superiority these days has less to do with "looks" than it does with materials, avionics, etc. Look at when the F-22 was first developed, and put into service. I like to think people aren't foolish enough to believe we built them and haven't made any improvements or upgrades since. The F-15, F-16, and other older aircraft are still in service. Sure...they look the same, but other than the shape, there's not much that resembles the first models.

Do you realize how scary this is? Halfway across the world there is a nation consisting of 1.3 billion non-caucasian, non-english speaking, non-christians who will soon have the capability to inflict a large number of US casualties if we were to try and do something about it. What part of the phrase "American exceptionalism" do these pinkos not understand?

I sure hope they don't use their own drywall in those jets, those pilots won't last too long if they do.
