Barbour says he won't run for president

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour said Monday he will not run for president in 2012.

"This has been a difficult, personal decision, and I am very grateful to my family for their total support of my going forward, had that been what I decided," Barbour (pictured), a Republican, said in a statement.

“A candidate for president today is embracing a 10-year commitment to an all-consuming effort, to the virtual exclusion of all else," the statement continued. "His (or her) supporters expect and deserve no less than absolute fire in the belly from their candidate. I cannot offer that with certainty, and total certainty is required."

A number of other Republicans are near their own self-imposed deadlines for making a decision about a 2012 presidential bid.

There's more than one phunnie boy Cesar section. How does it feel to be named after the dog on cans of dog food? To be perfectly honest I can't wait for the time God sees fit to take me from this world. All of you people are so horrible and so is your slimy reptilian leader. I pray his punishment is one that takes away anything the serpent finds entertaining or interesting. It's just getting really old.

I don't think Cesar is the "phunnie boy", if that's what you meant Dude.

Chill man, Walter and Donny are waiting at the bowling alley for you. 😉

Seriously, it's not getting old, it is old. But, anyone with half a brain can spot a troll who has no brain. Pretty easy to do and ignore. Though it does get my ire up at times....... *shrug* and keep going......

If you're using Big Lebowski references I've never seen it. My name means something else. Have a wonderful day.

Just thought about this and there's another way to put this "place" in perspective.

Say your a parent with a sixteen year old kid. An emergency pops up where you and the wife have to go out of town without the kid. So you tell the kid, here's the keys to the car and the tank is full, the refrig is stocked up and here's a couple hundred bucks if you need it. But in your haste to leave you forget to lock the booze cabinet and forgot that you didn't put the kid on you car auto insurance.

So, what happens next? Well, let's see. The car gets 1,000 miles on it and five nice dents, the 200 hundred bucks is gone in an hour, the kid organizes a party and invites 50 friends over, the booze is gone in an hour, the neighbors complain because of the loud music and the kids are swearing at them and calling them names, the cops come out, break it up and the punks go away for the night. The next night the party is back on and............

That, my friend, is a decent description of this place and what goes on here. C'mon in, mom and dad are still gone, someone found a half full bottle of JD and the fun is about to start...... 😉

Dude, I'm a Dude too! If you've never seen The Big Lebowski, then how did you know I was referencing it with the names Walter and Donny? C'mon Dude, you can't fool another Dude.... 😉

Hello Satan, How are you today? Air conditioner still broke? 😉

@Outsider: Your description sounds quite lovely, but there are no rules. Well I should say that I've had rules and punishment enforced upon myself while the "misfits" got away with anything they wanted. There's a line from welcome to the jungle I use when I come across such behavior "You can have anything you want, but you better not take nothin from me" well I can assure you that the person who wrote that is the biggest taker of all. So much dichotomy and contradiction for my liking. I'm quite certain that if this place is allowed to exist then I can have mine too. My universe would be like Spring Break without the clap or fighting. Drugs without the toxins or brain damage. Oh and certainly no authority figures saying "do as I say not as I do" to everyone. My way is better. Fun without consequences. Right now we have fun shoved in our faces and if we indulge then we are smacked with a hammer and told it was our fault for indulging in fun. No thanks. 🙂

    @The Dude,

I hear you and well said. Regarding this "place", there definitely are no rules. That's the internet highway, in all its glory. I don't like rules enforced upon me either. And yup, at this place the "fun" is shoved in our faces. And as you said , if we play (indulge) back then we get slammed. Definitely, hypocrisy as its finest.

I'm not an advocate of the "fun" BS here. Personally, I would just rather share my opinion, engage politely etc.. Most times (definitely not today), I much rather observe, hence the "Outsider". It's sort of a study of human behavior in the 21st century. Well, at least a snapshot of human behavior in the 21st century. It's very rare to find something fairly "meaningful" on this cyber playground. And that snapshot ain't looking good at all, not at all....

Yup, and the misfits are everywhere and do get away with anything here. Dude, I was called "FinnishGhey" yesterday. Sometimes, I think the commenters here are high schoolers, skipping school, and playing on the interwebs. It's ridiculous and mostly pathetic.

The interwebs are filled with this stuff, every cyber corner you turn. It's so convenient, to sit in a dark room, slinging turds behind a computer screen. I don't know what to say, other than I agree with you. My universe vision is very much like yours.

Anyways, I read a quote that was supposedly from Kurt Cobain but he probably stole it from someone else. Don't even know if it applies for this discussion, just scrambled out of my head...

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not."

And yeah, Axl Rose is definitely a pinhead "taker". 😉
