Gotta Watch: Born in the USA

After years of speculation and several major media outlets debunking claims, President Obama moved to put rumors about his birth certificate to bed by releasing the long-form document. While this may quiet some of the noise from some so-called "birther" conspiracy theorists, it may not be enough for others. In today's gotta watch we take a look at some of the most vocal "birthers" and their years-long quest to see Obama's birth certificate. And if you're still not sure what all the stink is all about, we've got a cheat sheet here.

The born conspiracy? – "Birther" movement leader Orly Taitz has been very vocal about her doubts concerning the president's birth place. She even took the issue to a California court. She said her goal was to find out if Obama was U.S. citizen and to hold a special presidential election if he wasn't.

"Birther" solider refuses deployment – One soldier adamantly refused his deployment orders, saying Barack Obama wasn't born in America and therefore ineligible to be president and give military orders. The soldier claimed there was "significant evidence" Obama wasn't born in Hawaii.

"Birther" outburst – Here, a "birther" only dubbed as "The Interrupter" cries out during the congressional reading of the constitution, earning her a place on the Ridiculist.

What's the next issue for "birthers"? – You guessed it, President Obama's grades. Anderson Cooper digs in with info about the president's education, but we're guessing the next documents to be unearthed will be his report cards.

I am always amused by the kindergarten attention span of liberals. Anyone remember the Bush National Guard fiasco that cost a major newsanchor his job because he reported what liberals had said and staked his reputation on it?

Oh yes, the old right-winger 'change the subject because we just got schooled' routine. I don't care if Bush showed up every day for nat'l guard duty or screwed around the whole time- He spent the Vietnam war hanging out in Texas rather than going to fight for his country- and that- IS A FACT! Elites like the Bush's get their kids out of wars and into ivy league schools, and nobody says a thing.

Would the right-wing have made the same stink if it had been Arnold Schwarzenegger (born in Austria) who won the presidency? I recall a number of highly visible numbnuts who advocated for AMENDING THE CONSITUTION to allow him to run...just because he is right-leaning. Wow...we do what serves OUR interests...we ARE the GOP!

Liberals... like the liberal patriots who created this country? I mean... let's call a spade a spade shall we? One educated in history knows that guys like Samuel Adams had a pretty liberal idea back in 1774 – notions like government by the people and for the people; taxation with representation; the social contract – these were the extreme liberal philosophical concepts of the 18th C – you mean liberals like that? LMAO...

There is only one reason why this is an issue (or non-issue). Obama is the first Black President. Who else ever had to produce all this and is even questioned whether he attended the schools he graduated from. I suppose now Donald Trump and the rest will want proof that he was actually atteding Harvrd and Columbia.

  8. Vote on punishment for birthers

I propose the following punitive actions for the insane amount of time, money and energy this witless lot has forced on our nation over the past 3 years:

    1. Fire them from their janitorial duties.

    2. Cut off their foodstamps and welfare checks.

    3. Move their Aryan Nation tattoos to their foreheads.

    4. No more going shirtless when they're busted on "Cops".

    5. Require them to sew up the eyeholes in their bedsheets.

    6. Flush their crystal meth down the toilet.

    7. Require them to bathe for a second time this year.

    8. Sic those Nigerian heir scammers on them.

    9. Award them an all-expenses paid vacation to Camp Gitmo.

    10. Force them to take their Alzheimers' medication. Again.

Feel free to add to the above.

Nothing will convince people who fall for conspiracy-spreaders that Obama's record is legitimate. I for one want Glenn Beck to prove that he's not an evil shapeshifting interdimensional alien.

It's a piece of paper w/ typed words a stamped state think the white house couldn't easily fake that? But whatever, doesn't matter. I made the mistake of voting for Mr. Obama in 2008. Let me be clear, I won't make the same mistake twice. See you on election day Mr. President

I'm sure he will do quite well without your vote...thank you very much. The 2012 election is all sewn up for the Democrats. They will win back the House and retain the presidency by a landslide...

This whole "birther" issue is an absolute embarrassment for this country. The "trump" is always speaking on how America is being laughed at in countries overseas.. Does he not think they are not laughing at him as well with this ridiculous non-issue. Anyone with any intelligence can see this is pure unadulterated racism. For the die-hards, it is hard to look at and accept that an African American could become President of the US because it destroys their perception of the black race being an inferior one. Their angry at President Obama being President because it is hard to look at a man from a race that their ancestors demeaned and brutalized for 400 years which perpetuated in their minds their superiority which was taught and is still being taught from generation to generation. Superiority to blacks was and is embedded. This is the reason this country is still dealing with the race issue in 2011

If you really think that this birth certificate issue is a legitimate one, why is it that no other sitting President in the history of the US has ever had to produce one. Wake up people!! It is past time that this country get its act together. I sincerely pray for our nation.

Focus on getting rid of the federal reserve..helping the victims of the darfur genocide...east african refugees...the west bank...gaza... stop worrying about the mans birth for crying out loud. Maybe if you people took the time and voted for the right governors of your state instead of only voting for the president we would have things a little different. Thr president has the power to veto.. point blank. Its our responsibility to rally the right candidates from each state to stand up for us in Washington.
