Gotta Watch: Born in the USA

After years of speculation and several major media outlets debunking claims, President Obama moved to put rumors about his birth certificate to bed by releasing the long-form document. While this may quiet some of the noise from some so-called "birther" conspiracy theorists, it may not be enough for others. In today's gotta watch we take a look at some of the most vocal "birthers" and their years-long quest to see Obama's birth certificate. And if you're still not sure what all the stink is all about, we've got a cheat sheet here.

The born conspiracy? – "Birther" movement leader Orly Taitz has been very vocal about her doubts concerning the president's birth place. She even took the issue to a California court. She said her goal was to find out if Obama was U.S. citizen and to hold a special presidential election if he wasn't.

"Birther" solider refuses deployment – One soldier adamantly refused his deployment orders, saying Barack Obama wasn't born in America and therefore ineligible to be president and give military orders. The soldier claimed there was "significant evidence" Obama wasn't born in Hawaii.

"Birther" outburst – Here, a "birther" only dubbed as "The Interrupter" cries out during the congressional reading of the constitution, earning her a place on the Ridiculist.

What's the next issue for "birthers"? – You guessed it, President Obama's grades. Anderson Cooper digs in with info about the president's education, but we're guessing the next documents to be unearthed will be his report cards.

LOL....American politics....what a joke. Dont stop though! Its quiet entertaining like going to the circus.

Seriouosly though. Your problem is your system of goverment. Maybe you guys should make the switch to a parliamentary system where there isnt just 2 parties. More even representation imo.

This is exactly the reason why you should never jump to defend what you know to be true...because you get the satisfaction that karma will knock your acuser down a peg or two when the truth comes out. I wish the media would quit encouraging Trump to speak because after giving him his time and listening to what he had to say, I have to turn the channel now as he continues to make a fool of himself. I am embarrassed for him, and he is embarrassing our country by continuing. Any political hopes he had are gone...or should be.

Please can the Republicans and the likes of Donald Trump just shut up I always thought most Caucasian Americans were intelligent and well travelled until you gave us George Bush and to add to the insult Sarah Parlin who thinks Africa is a country. Now we have some retards who question Obama after he has until next year to finish his term in office talk about closing the gates after the horse had bolted. Please talk about his record on Economy, world events etc then we might take you guys serious I have always suspected that some people only get to where they are because of the colour of their skin aside from this test their knowledge then you know how right I am. Remember fear of a black planet what that means is you only know how stupid a whiteman is when he takes on an intelligent Asian, African of hispanic man.

It's obvious from these comments that there is no one more racist than the blacks in America. Considering Obama's voting record in Illinois (one yes or no in 4 years) it comes as no surprise it took him 3 years and millions of dollars to come up with a simple birth certificate. He wasted every ones time and this countries resources just so he could have a big 'gotcha' some day. What a narcicist. What kind of morons really support this man?

I am very concerned about Donald Trump's senility. It will probably take a new course once the Trumpism D'jour is refuted. First it was the birth certificate. Next, it was Obama's grades. Wait, are there even grades? Did Obama ever actually go to school?!?! I am pretty sure that the next little nugget we are going to find out from Trump is that Obama is actually a robot or possibly a martian. Or, perhaps President isn't actually married to Michelle?! So, how can she be a first lady if there is no marriage certificate?! Actually, what really concerns me is that Obama doesn't do enough shady real estate business overseas with war criminals or file for bankruptcy with multi-level marketing schemes. Trump would be an expert on that though and might know if Obama is a player in those domains.

    Donald Trump should apologize

It was disappointing to hear Donald Trump say the words, "I'm so proud of myself…" in relation to President Obama releasing his long form birth certificate. A man of character would have taken the opportunity to apologize for disparaging the president and ultimately, his family.

This whole birther "silliness," to use the president's phrase, has served only to demonstrate the hatred that whole lot of people have for Barack Obama. Sadly, many people, including some Christians have participated in this shameful display of distrust and disrespect for a fellow citizen and our national leader. All this, and similar actions, puts minorities on notice, and on edge. This situation also badly damages the GOP's image.

Politically, it would have been a greater "in-your-face" tactic for President Obama to let his haters continue to "stew" in their birther foolishness, and later release the long form to their greater embarrassment. He demonstrated character by doing something that was completely unnecessary and beneath him. The man is 49 years old, an accomplished American citizen, devoted family man of ONE wife, and the President of the United States of America!

There are those who will have the gall to say, "Well, he should have released it sooner!" Only a racist or hateful person would insist that a duly elected President of the United States is an illegal alien. Regardless of your views of Mr. Obama's policies, he has shown himself honest, respectful, and trustworthy.

The inconvenient truth is this: If President Obama had a "normal" name and "pedigree," none of this would have been be an issue. Then again, most minorities in our great, but flawed, nation precisely understand what has occurred.

You know how there are some meetings in your community that you just don't go to, because they discuss stupid crap that you are not interested in?!? I think it's time we treat this entire topic (no websites barred) like one of those meetings. Let people wonder for the rest of his term(s) and waste their own time. In the meantime, throw tomatoes at Trump. Sorry, Trump. I like your show. You're an entertaining guy, and I really like what you've done with Gary Busey, but I am sorry, you're fired!

These birthers sure are ugly people. There used to be a name for them, it was poor white trailer trash. Seems that's now about 45% of the Republican Party. Sure says a lot about where the GOP is headed. Are they going to revive the KKK next?
