Gotta Watch: 'Birthers' here to stay

Even as the president jokingly proclaimed he was carrying an ID to prove his citizenship, it seems the "birther" movement just won't let up. These are the latest fiery interviews that seem to be fueling the movement.

'Blowhard and a phony' – Those are some strong words for Donald Trump from New York Times journalist Christopher Byron. Last night,  Trump continued to question President Obama while sparring with CNN's John King . This is Byron's fierce analysis of the feud.

Certificate just not enough – So many questions remain for conservative activist Joseph Farah, who is still not convinced that President Obama is a citizen even after the release of the birth certificate. And then there's the radio personality who claims "there's just something not right about it."

Can we please move on? – Probably not. Our Carol Costello talks to political contributors James Carville and Dana Loesch, who go head to head in this heated debate.

You can't argue with stupid. Birthers fall under that category.

First rule of politics: If you don't have anything positive to say about yourself, trash your opponent. The most surprising thing about this entire argument is that Americans fall for it. How can one not argue that we get the leaders we deserve. Know why Richard Dawkins refuses to argue with those who support creationism? Because its a pointless argument that has no merit to him. Why do we not as a society look at this Birther thing the same way? Yeah, it was entertaining that a group of us actually believes this and some military guy chose to get on a soap box about it and now sits in jail. There is nothing wrong with being entertained by our own stupidity but its become the norm to fall into group thinking because the stupidity exists. If someone said something moronic like "When Obama was a tribal chief living in Kenya, the tribe sustained itself on live human babies that they trained wolves to capture from neighboring tribes", I would bet that FAUX new would cover it like the story of the century followed my millions of dumfounded idiots who would want to know the facts. I wonder if this was a problem that would go away if it was just ignored. Tell the Birthers "well, gotta believe in something" then walk away. I would rather hear compounding arguments that UFO's exist than this tripe.

Donald Trump and the "birther" issue is a carnival side show. The GOP is losing their credibility in allowing this to continue. It is time for a serious candidate to step forward and talk about real issues. I can't believe that Americans are so enamoured with Trump's celebrity that they would take him seriously. Maybe he could have Linsay Lohan as his running mate.

Just hypothetically, suppose Trump is not an idiot. Could it be that he is using all this free publicity to further his many projects and get richer? Seems like a pretty savvy move. I doubt he has ever been serious about being president; he just wants better ratings for Celebrity Apprentice.

Yes they're beating a dead horse. Can we move on please?

Or will every single politician only be satisfied once we get on THEIR records too and see that a social security number and birth certificate are all they have? Hmmm....

I agree with others, in that there are enough real items related with the Obama Administration to have issue with. Continuing down the path of the Birthers just hurts everyone who has concerns about Obama.

Please let it go, so the real issues can be addressed.

Let's see...where to start...President Obama...that's right PRESIDENT ! At least 40 million of you don't know how to say that. It"s like Fonzi on happy days trying to say liver...livvvvvvvveerr.Just can't do it! We still have a long way to go before we get deep into 2K12. But in this short period of time, President Obama has been under such brutal attack its a wonder he didn't go underground like Dick Cheney ! Consider..the previous presidency and feel free to rerspond...if Ex-President George W. Bush was a minority do you think the american public would have given him a PASS on weapons of mass destruction? How about the ENRON SCANDAL ? How about NOT testiifying I MEAN REFUSING TO TESTIFY AT THE 9/11 COMMISION ? How about VOTING FRAUD ? How about involving US in the middle east...based on LIES !? How about HIS lack of involement after HURRICANE KATRINA? By the way, is NEW ORLEANS REBUILT or are we too busy fixing Haiti? How about the GOLDMAN SACH'S connection in the WHITE HOUSE during HIS REIGN? Finally, how about qualifications for the JOB? Let's see, GEORGE W. BUSH BANKRUPT the TEXAS RANGERS BASEBALL TEAM, so that implies he does NOT understand ECONOMICS. HIS CABINET consisted of 80% of his daddy's when he was President. So, it seems he doesn't know how to pick people for the jobs that he needs them for. SO, THERE YOU HAVE IT! A capsule of EVENTS that took place over an EIGHT YEAR REIGN! NO INDICTNENTS, NO INPEACHMENTS,NO BIRTH CERTIFICATES NOTHING! But I'll BET CHA if he was a MINORITY all the Donald Trumps the Carl Rove's THe Rush Limbaugh's and all of FOX NEWS would be soapboxing for his head on a STICK. Where were ALL these people when GEORGE W. was DISRESPECTING the OVAL OFFICE? Probably in ALASKA enjoying the RUSSIAN skyline! Hopefully, we as a nation will recover before the curtain closes or the white sheet blankets us all!

If this new birth certificate was real, it wouldnt say "African American", they didnt have that back then. It would say black, and had the hospitals original name, not the new name. Look online to find the orig. Kenyan certificate.

It doesn't say "African American". It says African. Read it again, fool.

Excellent example of how much birthers care about the truth. Read it before you fantasize what it doesn't say.

The Kenyan birth certificate is FAKE. Birther Orly Taitz specialized in presenting PHONY certificates. By now, MOST people have figured that out.

What white people like Trump and all the other birthers are really saying is they are racists and proud of it.

It's time in America to finally put rascism to bed. It is up to all moral and christian people to simply say "no to racism".

I will vote for Obama no matter what he does from here on because I do not believe he can do anything that is worse than anyone who is a member of the Republican Party.

Listening to Trump yap away is like suffering through an immature teenager's CYA that fails to add up. The Dems are
helping to run this guy on the Republican ticket. Of course, Obama will lose because he will laugh himself to death before the election.
