[Updated at 6:27 a.m.] Vanessa del Leon, who works at a hotel in David, said she felt the quake, whose epicenter was 110 miles south of the city.
"Everyone started screaming. We heard a lot of things breaking and computer keyboards smashing on the floor," she said. "This hotel has eight floors and it swayed like a palm tree."
The USGS had said the quake was a magnitude 6.1, but later revised it to 6.0. It hit at 3:19 a.m. local time, according to the USGS.

@Kane...we have a super volcano constantly erupting. It's in Antarctica and is responsible for burning a hole in our ozone layer millenia ago, and is why Austrailians get bombarded with so much UV light. But i can't for the life of me remember the volcano's name. Anyone?
Ana...what is that?
(thanks again Jazzzzzzz)
Your welcome FUNNY MAN
My faith in God has never been the question here. If I were to believe everything that is written, no matter the source, I would never come out of my house again. And no matter what the World Health Organization says, I do not believe that every man, woman, and child on this Earth will have contracted AIDS, anymore than I believe that every man, woman, and child will have hit the lottery. I certainly do NOT believe that my God is full is sh!t, either.
When the plague of the Middle Ages began, the end was nigh, according to the Revelation Celebrationists. Same thing with every other epidemic, pandemic, natural disaster, etc. We do *not* know when we shall die, so I choose to live my life in the very best way possible, one day at a time.
As Freud might have paraphrased himself, sometimes a cigar is only a cigar. Sometimes "statistics" are just useless predictions and numbers. We may be in endtimes, but in terms of our own individual mortality...I do not believe we as a species are going anywhere soon...Philip.
AIDS is an epidemic Donna. That's what I call "going somewhere soon". Never in the history of man has such a plight been encountered. Do any of you realize how complicated and crafty this virus is? Allow me to demonstrate: once infected, our bodies send every form of defense we have at them...mainly in the form of antibodies that track down and kill viruses in a most remarkable manner. However, these antibodies that have served mankind well forever, are now face-to-face with something they've never seen. They catch the virus alright...but the little critter changes it's own chemical composistion! He turns into glucose! Sugar! So our little buddy the antibody goes after another...and it does the same thing! Eventually he learns this ruse, and starts bagging some sugar. But wait! The AIDS virus then makes itself physically smaller! So small, our antibody has trouble tracking it down. And even when it does, the virus hides inside a tiny cavity [vaccuole] that's such a tiny little place...(cont)
...our antibodies can't get in! They're too big! And while this dastardly little virus sits inside one of our blood cells, all safe and cozy, he thinks "hmmm, what shall I do now?" Wait! I know. I'll reprogram this stupid humans blood cell from DNA to RNA, and start producing some more AIDS viruses. And that's what it does. Our bodies have absolutely no defense against this critter. But as long as our population growth outpaces the AIDS infection rate, we should be just fine...banasy (wink)
Phillip no cure for AIDS or the common cold. It has been predicted that a cure will never be found for AIDS other than abstinence of those infected.
Aids can and has been cured. Jim Humble did some research and discovered MMS. Since then people everywhere have been cured from Aids, just not with pharmaceutical interventions. Listen to God, not men.
"Wearing a condom to prevent the spread of AIDS is like taking a long vacation, and fastening your seatbelts right before pulling the car back into the garage."–quoted in OMNI magazine, after his hand-picked team thouroughly investigated the AIDS virus. Yet people still believe a condom helps somehow. Many African nations are denied aid unless they distribute condoms to "prevent" AIDS. How is it that people are this stupid? The virus is in your blood man! There's blood in everything that seeps from your body...AIDS doesn't live inside of sperm. A freaking condom looks like a fishnet to the AIDS virus anyway. sheesh!
@Mmmm...are you related to Hmmm? he he...saw your 'LOL'. Just trying to keep it going.
Sure, that's what it does, Philip, if one is exposed to it. Which I will not be. Which my children and grandchildren, if I have done my job right, won't be. Are you trying to say that we will one day have an airborne HIV virus? Really? You will never, ever convince me in a million years that every human being will have contracted the virus by 2052. That may be the case if our studies of a cure came to a complete standstill today, and no further research is done. Ever. And if everybody in the world comes in contact with an HIV positive person and willingly gets themselves infected. Which we know is nonsense. And we know this will not be the case. Just as you pointed out with the condom thing, we are finding out new things about the virus everyday. I refuse to buy into an ideal that says I should panic at things that *might be*. I have just as great of faith in science as I do in my God.
My original post was not about AIDS, anyway...but of weather, and of the "End Is Nigh" folk who take every *natural disaster* and say that the world is coming to an end. It's not. And, neither are we. Again, I will emphasize: *Natural Disaster*. Weather.
