Pakistan arrests dozens in connection with bin Laden compound

Dozens of people in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad have been arrested because of their suspected connections to the compound where Osama bin Laden was shot and killed, a Pakistani intelligence official said Friday.

Some of the individuals were arrested around the compound and investigators still need to determine if any of the people arrested have any connection with al Qaeda.

This story is developing. We'll bring you the latest information as soon as we get it.

Dont get to happy folks. As a Pakistani, I am fully aware of what will happen here. Those arrested are peasants and poor farmers who have jobs around the area – as the army and ISI is trying to cover up their own involvement, they are arresting poor peasants, they will lock them up for a week or so, claim they are investigating then quietly let them go. The real culprits are the Pakistani army, it's Chief Ashfaq Kayani and the head of the ISI Shuja Pasha, who are all worthy of facing the firing squad.

I agree completely with Kiran Ali! Pakistanis CANT be trusted. Just look at their history! They murdered hundreds of millions of hindus all because they wouldnt share their land.. (sound familiar with Muslims not sharing land???)... They are pathetic, brainwashed creators!!

The media and the general public are playing the news of the recent death of Usama Bin Ladin flat out in the form of the first human landing on the moon. There was and still is great speculation as to whether there had been an actual human landing on the moon.

The flaw that is inadvertently picked out by the speculative public is in the media video of the American flag being planted on the moon in the manner of having wind movement of the flag in space. And as all of us are aware there isn't any wind on the moon.

Furthermore, one real fact is known; the war with Iraq was based on the grounds that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. This war really began in order to end the brutal stress related to implementing no fly zones, by which I mean the human effort and risk of life associated with it, besides the known reason of financial expenditure associated with it.

On the political side America didn't feel the engagement of a comprehensive victory over Iraq after 34 countries had to pull Iraq out of Kuwait. The no fly zones were imposed over a 10 year period which felt like bottomless pit, with great expenditure both in financial sense and risk of life, while Sadam Hussein still remained in power despite his defeat in withdrawing from Kuwait. An attempt on President George Bush father's life was a cause of further humiliation for the former President and America, besides the known fact that Iraq had a wealth of oil standing on its territories that could be utilized in a favourable manner in the case of a regime change.

Did this regime change come at the cost of 9/11? This only the public can decide. There is same sort of speculation surrounding Usama Bin Ladin's death. With the price of oil reaching almost $5.00 per gallon and no good conclusive outcome of the economy, is the democratic President lying about the death of Bin Ladin like Bill Clinton was lying about his Monica Lewinsky affair? This seems to be highly unlikely as the CIA head Leon Panetta is on the President's side. But not much can be said about the opposition senators who still haven't debated the legitimacy of the pictures besides calling them fake.

The question "Is Usama Bin Ladin really dead?" could only be concluded if the U.S had trusted members of the Pakistan elite like Edhi by verifying his death with a public display of his body and so forth.

Similarly, we can't make any exact confirmation of Usama Bin Ladin's death until there is verification from the Taliban or Al-Qaeda for that matter. The thing that is really perplexing is the disposal of the body in the sea. There is no reasonable explanation as to why the body was disposed of in this manner, as I know perfectly no body has been dumped in the sea in case of a Muslim burial. The proper Islamic burial is on land with the body given a proper bath before being wrapped in white cloth.

There was wire around the flag to hold it extended – you can see it if you look at the picture. It was flopping around as they were trying to plant it, not blowing in the wind you dunce.

Hey deathers, what have you got to say now?

I guess Al Queda has joined the whacky conspiracy.

Come on...it's obvious. Look at the names. So close. Only one letter off. Bush was just a flunky for the real threat. It's been Obama all along! Al Queda is really a branch of the CIA. Isn't all of this obvious??? My informant also told me that Obama was behind the Kennedy assasination. AND possibly the Nixon assasination (what, you think that was the REAL Nixon that got caught?).

The 2 questions no one seems to ask Pakistani officials are these:
Since it was such a HUGE compound, who did you THINK lived there?
If you didn't know, after several years, WHY didn't you know?

    OF COURSE THEY KNEW!!!!

That compound was raided by Pakistani Army back in 2006, but nothing was found. Please also noted that Pakistan had a major earth quick back in 2005, several thousand people were displaced and several thousand new homes were build in that part of Pakistan. It is very hard to track all the new construction and all the displaced people plus anyone who take advantage from that displacement.

Also an intresting piece of information that US army trained Pakistani army in Abbotabad back in 2009. :–) They miss him too.

If US really want help Pakistanis then they must need to cut that billion dollars aid to Pakistan. As that money is going to banks in switzerland not to Pakistani public. Please contact your congressmen and ask for that.

Look at this way. We just got done embarrasing the Pakistani government by showing what their true colors were, so now they are trying to convince our government how truly dedicated to the cause they are so we will keep sending them their paycheck. I don't think this statement qualifies as a conspiracy theory. At least I hope it doesn't, because I don't want to be seen in that light.

Yep, I can just hear it now, the white house tells Pakistan to round up the usual suspects and to keep their mouths shut or they will send military troops into their country. They will do it, after all none of their loved ones are looking down a gun barrel or waiting to be blown up! Our govt is just as corrupt as theirs, only ours is more blood thirsty! They don't care about human life either, unless it is time to be re-elected.

Cathy- This has nothing to do with the white house telling pakistan what to do. It is pakistans weak attempt to look like they actually are doing something. I would love to hear more about your blood thirsty thoughts. Thanks.
