Pakistan arrests dozens in connection with bin Laden compound

Dozens of people in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad have been arrested because of their suspected connections to the compound where Osama bin Laden was shot and killed, a Pakistani intelligence official said Friday.

Some of the individuals were arrested around the compound and investigators still need to determine if any of the people arrested have any connection with al Qaeda.

This story is developing. We'll bring you the latest information as soon as we get it.

    It’s about time these corrupt manipulative Pakis’s feet are held to the burning fire for giving safe heavens to terrorists and sons and daughters of the devil Lucifer to destroy this world. These Pakis have been free-loading on USA way back in the 70's. These Pakis are evil themselves. Every terrorist and devil on earth can easily find safe heavens in Pakistan. I attended graduate school with them. They’re a bunch of liars by birth and very conning. Mark my words; those arrested will be let go or the Gov’t of Pakistan will create the right conditions for these terrorists to break jail to freedom. Haven’t we all witness all these jail breaks in Pakistan almost every year? Never trust these Pakis period. US Gov’t should cut all aids (more than $1.5B/yr) to these Pakis and shame them.

    DyensIP – you are absolutely correct in criticizing Indians, they have nothing constructing to add to the situation. We need to work with Pakistan and sort our this mess as soon as possible so that the people in that area and the rest of the world can live in peace.

      And just why are Indians being dragged in to this "mess"? We have been suffering from terrorism for ages -these guys who come to India from Paskistan, kill us, maim us and then go back and hide in Pakistan. US has been selling F16s to such a crazy nation for years and years just to keep it as it's ally never bothering to see how it's money aid to Pakistan and it's military was being used against innocent Indians. Only when US saw Pakistan using the same dirty politics against it's mother funder -America, then did it realize bits of the truth.

      The pakis have been "playing" the USA all this time. They don't deserve any sympathy. Let's withdraw the aid and drop some nukes and call it a day.

      @Mellisa,
      Pakistan is spared because the west needs it the way it is; and saves it from being put to justice. If it was not for the western support to Pakistan, we would have helped Pakistan solve their terrorism problem long ago.

      Mellisa u need to give it a thought b4 u comment...u wrote to Jaya below to love thy neighbors and then next supporting an completely irrational view by someone criticizing a Nation i.e. India (which is a prime victim of terror, completely harmless and getting recognized in the whole World just on the basis of its people's talent and love) itself shows how shallow your views and thoughts are !! So please do not preach knowledge on peace and love !!

      Instead of criticizing me start looking at the history and the history why this terrorism is happening to India, what you sow is what you reap – India partnered with Russia in 1980's which was responsible for killing million of Afghan.

      Mellisa: Are you really out of your mind? Have you been reading the news at all or you just started reading the news after 9/11 happened. Back in late 90's, terrorists from Pakistan hijacked a plane that had more than 300 people flying from India. In exchange they wanted their terrorists released. These were the same terrorists that India had nabbed in the 90's. After the release, they plotted events like 9/11 and even the one in Mumbai. U r seriously kidding when you say respect your neighbour. Respect is always two ways. We have always given them chances to improve, but they have never improved a bit. Respect has to be earned. Please keep your mouth shut and don't just make statements when you don't know the facts. The only reason you are feeling the pinch is cos you guys got attacked now. Also, ask your govt to justify all the funding that they have given to Pakistan when their own country is going down hill. 20 billion since 2002. WOW!!! Selfish Interests. What was the point of going to Iraq when there were no WMD. OIL OIL OIL!!!

  9. The Media Machine Stokes The Flames

    Just got my mail today. The latest issue of Time was delivered. On the cover, they have a picture of bin with a blood dripping, huge red X across his picture. Yeah, I'm glad the guy is dead. But c'mon media? You guys seem H/E/L/L bent on stoking the flames. All you are doing is enabling more rage from the lunatics and giving them more reason to plot their insane actions.

    Was there really a need for a picture of the ugly dude with a blood dripping X over his face? Time the new National Enquirer. I'm canceling my subscription today, stupid jerks.

    I'm going to teach you a lesson Cesar. You are overusing the comma. Try gathering your thoughts and then make a statement that makes sense. When you make a statement, end it with a period. Then make your next statement again ending it with a period. See how that works? That way your statements will be taken more seriously. As you write now, you come off like an ignorant religious nutcase. Hmmmmm...............

    US and Pakistan are alway able to sort our the issues mutualy and cooperatively. Hopefully they will be able to sort this out. Too much blood shed over the last 10 years, the world needs peace. We should open a citizen dialog between US and Pakistan to solve this issues instead of relying on the Politicians.

      The citizens of Pakistan are mostly Muslim and side with the Taliban. So do it's military and espionage organizations—only a hand full of wealthy individuals and politicians benefit from the US relationship and they are milking us with promises they cannot deliver on. As the last week's events show. We are being duped.
