Actor Jeff Conaway dead at 60

Actor Jeff Conaway, who was in the TV series "Taxi" and the movie "Grease," died Friday morning from pneumonia, his manager said.

Conaway, 60, had been in an Encino, California, hospital since May 11, after apparently having been unconscious for eight or nine hours before he was found, Phil Brock said.

Initial reports earlier in the week that he suffered a drug overdose were inaccurate, according to a source familiar with Conaway's medical condition. However, his use of drugs caused him not to realize how ill he was, keeping him from getting treatment until it was almost too late,  the source said.

Ahh, so true. Poor man, just had too many problems. He is no longer in pain anymore. I believe he was a Christain too so he believed and is now in a much better place where drugs are not needed to feel no pain. Im sad but glad he is better off.

That's really quite sad. I introduced my daughters to Grease, and they loved his character. He was the 'cute' one on Taxi... Troubled man, seduced and digested by Hollywood. RIP. I hope you found what you were looking for.

Friendly, it is a sad commentary that "Hollywood" is the only seducer of bad things. Go to any small town, city, or big metropolis and find the unknowns who are suffering the same fate.

um, hello do you know anything about his life? This is not a man that wanted to be alive. I hope he finds peace "on the other side".

Do you know for a fact that at the time he fell ill that this is how he felt? Are you aware that there are people who have unsuccessfully tried to kill themselves, failed, and then went on to enjoy the rest of their lives?

Finally! And I say that will all due respect. Did you see him on Celebrity Rehab? What a mess. He wanted to die, in my opinion, with all the drugs and booze he was doing. I hope he is finally at peace. What a waste of a life.

He's a waste of life because he had problems? How close to perfection do people have to be for you not to spit on them?

Almost too late? Sounds like it was too late to me if he's dead.
