Unborn child has Facebook profile

Unborn baby Marriah Greene has a lot to say, at least according to her Facebook profile.

The child attends Tummy University, enjoys soccer and swimming and talks in first person. And her friends talk back to her– in baby-speak, naturally.

Of course, it’s really her mother, Ellie Greene of Whitehouse, Texas, updating the page, but the fetus already has more than 260 friends.

When Ellie and her husband, Matt, decided it was time to announce their pregnancy, they wanted a quick, inclusive method, and what’s faster than Facebook to spread exciting news?

“Within a day she had over 100 friends,” Ellie said, according to affiliate KLTV.

Friends quickly responded to updates about Marriah. They give advice, make jokes and compliment her beauty in the ultrasound photos.

“We wanted to keep the page going, so she could go back and look at it,” Ellie said, giving her daughter the opportunity to see how many people adored her before she was even born.

The parents plan to continue updating the page, with her birth story coming soon. After all, “The word in the belly is there's a lot more to see.”

  1. This Just In

NEWSFLASH: After it was revealed by Dr. Phil that the chord is in fact attatched to a human, an anonymous source has presented evidence that implicates doctors and fathers everywhere. A video clearly showing doctors and fathers cutting the chord proves that they knew all along. A federal grand jury has been called.

By chord do you mean a group of musical notes or a line through a circle?

What a pitiful cry for attention. Everyone! Look at me! I'm pregnant! I'm going to have a baby! Pay me lots of attention!

wow, YOUR pitiful. Go ahead and slam someone for a happy and fun moment, your probably the person that gleams for horrible stories or (for example) turns everything into race issues.

Jessica, YOU'RE the pitiful one! A fetus should NOT be allowed a facebook page! First question is HOW did it get one? Second is WHY it was allowed?
This woman should have put it on HER FB account.

Bet the pro-lifers will come out of the woodwork and "friend" it... that is, until its born and mommy asks for interest bearing bonds to pay for its college. Then they'll "unfriend" it like a bad habit.

Why are people like you so worried about "Pro-Lifers"??? Could it be that you know they're right and it makes you uncomfortable? This is usually the case, I think.

"Voice of Reason", pro-lifers are never right. Especially not when they go out of their way to lie to a woman's face. When the pro-life can give arguments based in fact and not lies and personal belief it will be different, but for now they are never right because they would rather lie than use facts to support themselves.

Yeah, yeah, Mew. Usual baseless denial from an ill informed person. I am actually a Geneticist. Look and learn !
      Sperm >23 Chromosomes + Ovum >23 Chromosomes = 46 Chromosomes
      Fertilization occurs > 46 Chromosomes divide by 2 = 23 Chromosomes = BABY.
At the moment of fertilization those 23 Chromosomes can tell us Colour of eyes / co lour of hair / height / personality traits / etc etc.
Funny when it suits you it's a foetus. When doctors do heart surgery on a child in the womb – it's a miracle BABY!
      Who's lying ?
Look up details of the 4 main methods of abortion [suction; salt ; partial birth; live dissection] THEN make an informed judgement. Until then. Keep your self-serving ideas to yourself, please.

I know a baby that created his facebook page in utero, circa 2009. Now that he's out here with the rest of us, his travel commentary rival the Bronx Zoo Snake. Go SIMON!

This has been done before – way to stay current CNN.

don't you have to be 13 years old to have a facebook page – we'll see if facebook closes the account.

So if this is in violation of facebook, what about all the other kids that have a facebook? I know lots of kids under the age of 13 that have a facebook page. Will u please tell me how to report them? Cause don't the rules apply to everyone? And whoever is the person that reported this to facebook is one sad, miserable individual. I mean, come on, what did u personally gain from this. I hope u burn in hell

It affected me because it's a rule on facebook, you can't just go and break any rule you want to just because you think your kid is better than everyone else. Thank you very much I can tell from your comment you think it's ok to bend the rules a bit I bet you don't stop at a stop sign if no one is around do you?

I think it is a brilliant idea, I blog from my toddlers' point of view and I wish I had started sooner. It's a fresh take and why is it so different from our own FB pages where we show off, post pictures of ourselves everywhere we go, and update our statuses with the most mundane actions.. "Tired, going to bed" ? Uhhh, now that is a waste of time!

"Why is it so different from our own FB pages"??? Because it's not you, it's another human being. Another human being with his or her own thoughts, hopes, and dreams, and the assumption that YOU speak for them completely and entirely and always is ridiculous. It has nothing to do with them, it's about YOU wanting the attention for YOU. Let your children have their own lives.

Why are some of you people being so hateful? Has your life really made you so sour that you will bash a young family for showing their excitement about their new baby? What does pro-life have to do with it? Must be a bunch of liberal democrats sitting around looking for someone or something to hate on. Get over it, let the people enjoy their moment and find your misery elsewhere

Thanks Craig, great post. You'll never convince the clinical depressives out there but we normal people like to share others' good news. If everyone did that the world would be a much better place.
