Gotta Watch: Casey Anthony jail tapes

The Casey Anthony trial could be one of the most dramatic court cases since the O.J. Simpson criminal proceedings. The gut-wrenching testimony and reaction from Casey's parents spurred interest in what they had to say back in 2008 when Caylee was still missing. Here are some telling moments from the trial and from jail conversations Casey had with her parents.

The drowning theory – In 2008, Casey Anthony brushes off what her mom says is a media allegation that Caylee drowned in a pool. She then goes on to assure her mom that she knows in her heart that Caylee is okay.

Drowning defense – Fast-forward to the trial, where Casey's defense makes the case that Caylee Anthony did in fact drown in the family pool.

Casey gets angry – Here we get a glimpse of Casey's mindset during the time Caylee was missing. At the time, she came under fire for complaining that her entire life had been taken from her.

Casey excludes people from questioning during the "search" for Caylee by stating their crazy, trouble, or claiming to be involved due to fame. Casey looks so bad in these visits. Not one time does she sit down and ask first off "Is there any news about Caylee. She just told her parents she dosen't watch the news or read the paper to avoid BS, now she doesn't talk to the prison shrink, doesn't trust him/her. I think that equates to being caught up as a killer. If I had helped someone dispose of a child/grandchild I would not keep asking where ske/he is, to please tell us if someone has her. In cases like this I believe that the good old fashion "truth" serum should be used.

I just don't believe the mother did this horrilbe crime all on her on. somehow, the parents are involved, but the prosecution has tunnel vision at this point and all they care about now is a conviction, a feathr in their cap. They really don't care who else could be involved, their sights are on Casey. The Dad is somehow involved.

Oh my God. you must be kidding? Have you been under a bolder? If there is someone on this jury that even comes close to thinking like you, God help us. Casey is a absolute pathalogical, lying Scociopath!!!!!

I agree that the dad is somehow involved. That may explain the suicide attempt a while ago.

Somebody please explain to me why criminal evidence is allowed to be broadcast on national media while a trial is still under way?

Because it doesn't effect the outcome. The jury is sequestered (they aren't seeing this site, for example), and what we all think doesn't matter at all in terms of the court proceedings. The only thing that matters is the jury's opinion, ie, the verdict.

It's the same as any trial that is televised. Like the other poster said, the jury is sequestered so they don't see any TV,. hear any news broadcasts, see any papers, have internet, etc. They know nothing except what is presented in court. Remember the OJ trial? Same ideas apply with this one.

The state needs to just hurry up and show the prosecution the first video where Cindy Anthony says 'theyre saying caylee drowned" and Casey says "surprise surprise." Show them that...give them 20 minutes to deliberate...and send her ass to lethal injection chamber.

As for the lie detector test, it was stated through reporters that she actually might pass because not only does she believe her lies but she takes bits and pieces of her life and plants them into her lies, they don't just roll off the top of her head. I watch her and I must say I'm just astonished that people who are truly concerned and are trying to help, Casey just bold faced lying and acting as if it's all real.

I can't believe this is being shown while the trial is going on. How in the world is this girl to get a fair trial, which she deserves with all this stuff being pumped out. I cannot believe that the jury had no knowledge of this case- I live in freaking California and I knew about this case from day one. There is no way that jury is unbiased. There's no such thing as a fair trial with the media's overblown, sensationalist reporting. This is NOT reality TV people. This is a girl's life. If she did it, fine, she needs to be punished. I just do not know how in the world anyone can have never heard of this case. Does the jury live under a rock?

It's not whether the jurors have heard of the case, but whether they can be impartial and issue a verdict based on the evidence. Jurors most often do the right thing.

It's not the fact of never having heard of the case as I would guess that Casey and Caylee Anthony have become near household names by now. It's the idea of getting a fair trial and the jury being able to make their decisions based solely on evidence heart in court. The televising of the trial has absolutely no bearing on Casey's ability to get a fair trial. There is no audio in that courtroom so the jury is not hearing or seeing any of this. They are also sequestered so they have no ability to access information about the trial on their, i.e., no TV, no papers, no internet, etc. The jurors are hearing exactly waht the attorneys are presenting and that's it. Remember the OJ trial? Well, Casey's trial is operating the same way.

Me too. I know all baout the casse and have followed it from the get go. BUT I was floored when I found a friend of mine that knew nothing and lives in South Florida!!!!! AT first my friend beleived Casey may have been telling the truth about the father / brother molestation. WHY? Becasuse my friend was molested while she was younger. I have done my best to set this friend straight. BUT It worries me that they found these jurors that must have been under a rock!

When I was young my grandmother said to me "a woman with NO shame is a dangerous woman" this is truly a case of a woman with no shame. Her brother broke his back to find that child and she kept leading him on as well as the parents and the police and she sits in the court room WATCHING and LISTENING to her own behavior without an ounce of remorse on her face, no embarrassment or shame.

I'm wondering if Casey put the duct tape over the baby's mouth and nose so water could not get into the lungs? Maybe she had seen one of the many crime shows on TV and knew how the coroner could determine a death by drowning. And someone mentioned that the brother and Casey's father took a DNA test, are you sure? And why did they not question the brother about the incest allegations while he was on the stand? Didn't the question her father about the allegations? ~MARY~

I believe she gave Caylee chloroform to put her to sleep, and also used duct tape to keep her quiet for when she woke up. Problem is, she never woke up!

Wow Mary, truly incredible thought there, I was thinking she went out one night, chloroformed her and duct tapped her in case she woke, but I often wonder about the drowning claim as well and that's a heck of a thought there.

    • She's Guilty

Mary, that doesn't make any sense...why would she put tape over her mouth/nose to PREVENT a drowning if they're claiming accidental drowning. I believe she chlorophormed her so she could go out partying, but found her dead and didn't know what to do.

Really??? That would be called suffocation then, not a drowning. Do people think about what they write or do they just type away? Stop entertaining all the ideas the Defense threw out there... this is what they want to happen so they can get a hung jury.

I have a feeling there are a LOT of TV's around the Country that are getting a LOT of verbal abuse!!!! What amazes most is how she takes a lie right up to the furthest wall she can. Led the Detectives INSIDE the Universal Bldg, before she said she doesn't work there. Amazing!!!! Same with taking them to the "Zanny Apartment"........TWICE!!! Right up to the door and even looked in the windows herself, looking for a non-person!

Did you see her smirk when the Detective said he could see that she cared, that he could see her tears??? OMG (squared)!

There is virtually no way this gal is going to get a "not guilty" verdict for this. Her lawyers know their best shot is to try to keep her off death row altogether, or "On" Death Row.....but out of the Death Chamber as long as possible.
This is absolutely, bar one, the worst lawyering I've ever, ever, ever seen! Baez can't put a proper question together to save his soul.

Does anyone besides me think that he may be actually shooting far down the road ,in the Appellate Courts, for a re=trial based on Ineffective Assistance of Council in this trial??? It would necessitate another trial and years and years more delay before eventual punishment. In a sick way, he would be doing his job.

What do Y'all think? Crazy....or Crazy like a fox???
