Criminal case against Jack Kevorkian began with 1998 video

Jack Kevorkian, who died Friday at 83, began his crusade to give people the option of choosing to end their life rather than continuing to seek medical treatment in 1989.

During the next nine years, at least 130 people used Kevorkian’s "suicide machine" to take their own lives. With the push of a button, patients were able to give themselves a lethal dose of chemicals.

One patient, however, was unable to use the machine. Thomas Youk suffered from Lou Gehrig’s disease. Instead of just helping Youk, Kevorkian administered the drugs himself. Kevorkian also videotaped the procedure and sent the tape to CBS’ "60 Minutes."

In the recording, Kevorkian repeatedly asked Youk, “Tom, do you want to do this? Are you sure you want to go ahead?"

Youk says yes and nods his head. Kevorkian delivers the drugs and Youk soon died soon thereafter. “60 Minutes” aired Youk’s death.

Michigan prosecutors would later use the tape to help convict Kevorkian of second-degree murder in 1999. Kevorkian spent eight years in prison before being paroled in 2007.

My friends and I don't have to agree on everything.
It would be boring if we did.

I just had three eggs for breakfast.
I wanted to eat some leftover steak with it, but my religion wouldn't allow me to eat the mother and the child at the same time.
I think I'll eat the steak anyway.

Joey: the mother and the cow refers to milk and meat not eggs and meat. also you can drink milk and then meat, but if you eat meat you have to wait 5 hours to be able to drink milk or eat cheese. Hi

    Good morning.
I learn more every day about dietary laws.
I want to restate that I don't have to agree with all my friends about everything.

Can I wear wool and cotton together? With nylon socks?
Oh–maybe there were no socks back then.

Guess we won't need another "Angel Of Death" around, now that the end of worlders are relying on yet another one of Harold Campings predictions. Said he admitted he was off a couple of days.

It's very observant of you even to look inside the BigMac–or however they spell it. I don't go there often.

WHY does the picture on tv.. and the adds always show the meat bigger than it really is.. a big-mac you get never looks like the one on tv///

The meat is made to look as appetizing as possible. Remember you can't eat a commercial or advertisement so the production team has to convey how good their product is VISUALLY. The food products are sprayed with oil to resemble the juices running out from the burger , that's one trick I do remember from a segment on.... I believe it was the Today show. besides we all know what bergers really look like, not like we've never seen one. But if the crew has done its job you will want that product anyway, our senses most of the time are more powerful than logic.
