NATO: Airstrike targeted high-level Gadhafi command site

NATO confirmed Monday that it carried out an airstrike against a high-level command and control site associated with Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's regime - an airstrike the Libyan government alleges killed 15 people, among them three children.

NATO said the airstrike near Zawiya followed information-gathering through reconnaissance. The target was "directly involved in coordinated and systematic attacks" against the Libyan people, a NATO statement said.

Earlier, NATO had denied the government's accusations, saying it was not operating in the area at the time. Later, it said it was investigating the allegations.

I see that the NATO air forces managed to kill 15 Libyan civilians accidentally on purpose in their incessant air strikes. Anyone with half a brain knows that when one bombs a heavily populated area, some people are bound to get hurt

I also thought that Obama said this was a NATO operation and we're just taking a back seat so why blame Washington for the killings? Or is Obama lying about that so he can carry out an uncon sti tutional military operation without congressional approval, he's already passed the ninety day mark so he's now in violation of the con st itution. Damn cnn filters thinking that's a curse word.

First of all let me just say that you would have to describe me as a Hawk and pro-military. With that said I am fed up with the U.S. , mainly our military trying to solve the worlds problems. There is NOT one of these countries that are a REAL threat to us. The "In our National Security Interests" reasoning is pure B.S.! If the U.S. was not afraid of the political consequences we could bomb all of these countries into the stone age. It is time to bring ALL of our military home, no matter where they are!

@Ruffnutt: Off topic. Russia certainly damaged Germany but they didn't defeat them. Germany would've completed their cold water experiments within months, by most estimates. If they had it would've changed the whole landscape of the war. You can bet your a ss Hitler would've used it on Stalingrad-which would have forced Russia to sue for peace. What stopped them? We developed the atomic bomb first and used it on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Here is the in-depth truth about this propaganda-driven war using nonsense as an excuse to engage in mass slaughter in the theft of Libyan wealth and the attempted theft of Libyan oil.
