Obama announces Afghanistan troop withdrawal plan

President Barack Obama announced Wednesday night that all of the 33,000 additional U.S. forces he ordered to Afghanistan in December 2009 would be home within the next 15 months.

In a nationally televised address from the East Room of the White House, Obama said 10,000 of the so-called "surge" forces would withdraw by the end of this year, and the other 23,000 would leave Afghanistan by September 2012.

    well said on both posts.
As I had written earlier on these blogs that the slated speech would have nothing to offer, least of all a 'change'.

When the political leadership and those who guide a nation's destiny are driven by twisted ideology & arrogance, greed , personal agenda , become subservient to interests other than those of the nation ( like big business & foreign lobbies), they tend to close their eyes & ears to the voices of those who need them most – the people.
As an American it breaks my heart to see that happening on this great land of ours and to once the richest of nations & the most admired.
Jobs, health care, education, infrastructure, well being of the people, the future of our generations all put on line to further an agenda that does not serve but undermines American interests.
    God save & bless America.

Thanx saywhat. I think it's too late though. I can't see God blessing US more and more each day. Was that a blessed earthquake? Tornado? 9/11...seemed to be more of a malediction than a blessing. They say God works in mysterious ways...but they never mentioned deranged. I'm leaning in the direction that God is displeased with our behavior. Bad cop-no doughnut sort of thing.

Thanks for your kind comments. Though I think we can still get God on our side if we sit up , take notice & do something about it. get our voices across to those in corridors of power who are there because we sent them there.
Wish we had more voices like yours.
