DNA tests provide poop on bad dog owners

A New Hampshire apartment complex is mandating that residents submit pet DNA samples.

Why? To check if any of them are abandoning their dogs' waste on the property.

BioPet Vet Lab says PooPrints is currently assisting rental complexes in multiple states, with increasing interest as far away as Canada and Germany.

I like my neighbors' pets in my Manhattan apartment building. They have to be on a lead.
One man has a pit bull that barks at everybody but me. That always gets an impressed stare from the owner.

We have a Great Dane. Luckily we also live on a 3 acre lot. Poop is far and beyond.

I love Great Danes. A friend in my building had two, and sometimes I took them out for her in return for the favor with our dog.
That's a lot to handle on snow and ice.

Responsible pet owners pick up after their dog, no matter where they live.
I have a backyard, and I still pick up after my dogs.
A newspaper bag is ideal for this; slip it over your hand and arm, pick up the poo and turn bag inside out; no fuss, no muss.

Of course, the apartments complexes can always make their complex pet-free.

There are still some of those left.

And as for the posted topic:

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of!

Dear Lord, have we become a nation of morons?

    Wait, don't answer that.

It would probably be more cost-effective to just have a nosy Nellie in the building who knows what everyone is doing at any given time; offer a rent reduction, and poof! Problem solved!

A "poo police", as it were.

You obviously never had a lawn that you were proud of and have a dog owner leave his pet's urine and feces on your property. Step in it some day and then take it into your house. If you have a dog you also have a responsibility to respect other people's property. I have had dogs and curbed ( in the street) them and then picked it up and disposed of it. This is not a stupid thing. It is a necessity for sanitary reasons, safety for children that play in the grass, etc.

I've seen nasty dog owners who have intentionally taken their demon spawn to a neighbors yard to take a crap, damn people ought to be shot and their dogs too.
