Psychologists: Casey Anthony is competent

Casey Anthony, charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter in 2008, underwent examinations by three psychologists over the weekend after her defense team filed a motion to determine her competency to proceed, the judge in her trial said Monday.

All three psychologists found Anthony competent, Orange County Chief Judge Belvin Perry said out of the jury's presence. Their reports will be sealed, he said. It was implied - but not expressly stated - that the motion was the reason for the abrupt recess Perry called on Saturday.

The resumption of the trial Monday was delayed for more than a half-hour as attorneys huddled in Perry's chambers.

Saturday had been planned as an extended weekend work day in the trial. But Perry ordered a recess over the sudden emergence of what one analyst said must be a major issue.

"Obviously it's big, and obviously it's troublesome and obviously it's something that can't be disclosed," HLN legal analyst Linda Kenney Baden said.

Perry emerged from his chambers Saturday morning after nearly an hour of discussion with lawyers both inside and outside the courtroom to announce the day's planned testimony would be canceled.

I hope she *does* take the stand.
    I would relish it.
I would gather my friends, stock the fridge with brew and vodka, and make a day of it.

I just have one question for Casey Anthony... Were was Caylee all those times the "Zanny the Nanny" had her before June 16. Her only way out is to take the stand!!! Biaz has done a great job at pokeing holes now its time for her to use one and shine some light on her side of the story!!!

What if George told Casey to act as though Caylee is at the bay sitter's house? Maybe that is why Casey was acting like her father told her to act.

    Who is Caylee's father?

Carolyn that is the big mystery. What if George Anthony is the father of Caylee? Would that change everyone's idea that Casey is guilty? Until we know who was the father of Caylee anything is possable.

Why hasn't the question been asked...What was Lee Anthony's role in all of this. He promised to keep a promise in the service they had for Caylee. In the jail house video he stated that he would carry out something for her. My thought on all of this is Casey killed her daughter, panicked ditched the car and called her brother. She has blamed everyone but her brother for the death of her daughter. Just saying

okkk.... so, when something tragic happens at a certain place, for the most part the building, pool, etc. gets torn down. in a town not far from me a set of twins drowned in the neighbors above ground pool, and the neighbors tore it down, so the parents and family of the 3 yr. olds didnt have to look at it everyday. does anyone know if the Anthony's pool is still right in their back yard......????

Probably because they well know the kid's death had nothing to do with the pool.

How many more lame attempts will the defense make to try to subvert justice? What a charade! What a #&%$ joke! It is abundantly clear that Casey takes after Mom, Dad, and her brother. They are all allike – conniving liars. I cvan't believe they allow Cindy to sit there day after day taking notes so she can go home and concoct yet another set of perjurous lies to try to get her daughter off. The entire family should go to jail.

She is completely competent to testify and lie. After all. she's been getting away with it for years. in her mind she can lie to the jury and they will believe her, or maybe she thinks its an imiaginary jury!!!!

She is smiling, laughing, animated and talkative with her lawyers when she is in the courtroom outside of the presence of the jury, BUT, when the jury enters the courtroom, she clams up and puts on her “poker face”, sitting there in stony silence with a pursed pair of lips that reminds me of the face of a monkey! After being examined by three court-appointed psychologists over the weekend, who all deemed her mentally competent to stand trial, all I can say is: LET HER TAKE THE STAND! BRING IT ON, CASEY!!!!

BeclnOrlando. You hit it on the head. She certainly does look like a monkey. I knew her "look" reminded me of something ~ just couldn't put my finger on it.

When you have no defense the only thing you can do is distract and confuse.

I think Beaz called for the hearing to gain some time for some reason. And why is Casey so happy today? Could it be she thinks it's funny that the defense team made fools out of someone? Did you see her talking to some lady with a purse and she puts her hand in front of her mouth and she smiles, then raise's her eye brows.

I don't think Casey has worn the same outfit more then once, where is she getting all of these nice ironed clothes?

    What a joke,

I totally agree with xerxes2011 about who the real criminals are! And Coach Jackson, one of the things I've said throughout this ordeal is how balck & empty her eyes look! If your experience is true then she's sicker & more dangerous than we have previously thought! Her key should be melted down, too, unless she gets the needle!!

I hope the jury saw Casey's evil looks and anger when Jose Baez had another sidebar moment, shown in the latest Nancy Grace slip.

I find the defense that Jose Baez is trying to sell totally offensive and embarrassing. Does he think the jury and the rest of us, for that matter, have IQ!s no greater than that of a fly. I don't believe his fairy story. If he had a conscience he'd throw his hands in the air and admit his client is indefensable.
