Typhoon leaves 12 dead in South Korea

Strong winds from a typhoon left 12 people dead or missing in South Korea after raking the west coast of the country over the weekend, country's emergency management officials said.

The nine deaths include a search and rescue worker who was swept away by strong currents as he was trying to save a drowning three year old, according to the National Emergency Management Agency.  Three people, including the toddler, are still missing.
