Gotta Watch: Inside cheerleading

They're the rah-rah-rah that get fans and athletes hyped up. Without cheerleaders, how would we know when to be aggressive or use defense? Yet being one of sports' happy helpers isn't so simple. Whether it's perfecting dancing moves, upstaging female counterparts with your sassy swings or donning the right uniform, you've gotta watch how cheerleaders get down.

Too young to be sexy? – A provocative dance plus elementary girls multiplied by viral video success equals controversy. When a young dance troupe suggestively sways, splits and turns to "Single Ladies," some parents are proud, but others are offended. "Uh oh oh" indeed.

Who wears short skirts? – A group of Ohio cheerleaders ran into trouble when they learned their cheerleading uniforms didn't adhere to the school dress code. Administrators thought the outfits were too skimpy.

You call those cheerleaders? – Who needs fit and rhythmically precise cheerleaders when you can have "manatees" instead? It's a new look for a cheery profession that gives the big guys a chance to show their stuff on the field. This all-male dance team catches eyes for more than just its moves.

I almost spit my milk out on this sentence the author wrote: "Without cheerleaders, how would we know when to be aggressive or use defense?"

??? Whoever wrote this artice must never have gone to any sort of sporting event.., EVER! What a total moron. People know when to cheer their team because they like, know and understand the game they are watching, unlike the author of this article. Cheerleaders aren't needed at all, they are just a side show, meaningless to the game. Jeeeeez, this autor doesn't only need a clue, they need a life too.

    Complete moron.

NFL Cheerleaders Arent Real Cheerleaders.. Just Because They Hold PomPoms Doent Make Them Cheerleaders... They Are Dance Teams and So Are Those Little Girls.. and Yes, Most Cheerleading Uniforms Violate School Rules.. The Shortness of The Skirts Are Nesscessary For The Cheerleaders To Have Full Range of Motion While Performing Skills..

Of all the problems parents have, how do you defend yourself against a d-bag like Dr Phil and some of these others tards? I wonder if any of them have little girls of their own, or do they just feel it necessary to butt into everybody else's families? You people spend too much time thinking about this. 🙂

I interpetted the problem with the Cheerleader uniforms that they were wearing them during the school day, not just at the events. The admistration obviously felt this was not appropriate and did not follow the dress code during normal school hours. Why would they need skirts at 1 period if they weren't at a game or Pep rally?
