Michael Vick, the star National Football League quarterback whose career was interrupted by a dogfighting conviction, has reached an endorsement agreement with athletic equipment maker Nike.
"We have re-signed Michael Vick as a Nike athlete," Megan Saalfeld, a Nike spokeswoman, said in an e-mail to CNN.

Vick, currently on the roster of the Philadelphia Eagles, served 20 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to bankrolling a dogfighting operation. He has since emerged as a spokesman against dogfighting.
"Michael acknowledges his past mistakes," Saalfeld said. "We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field. "
What is wrong with this world? When did community responsibility disappear? He did community service because he was court ordered, he fulfilled his service to decrease his sentence. He is not sorry. That would be like leaders of a genocide apologizing, While they were doing it, they knew it was wrong to kill. Vick is cold and heartless. He killed for sport, that is sickening. Who values life that little? No one who is ever sorry for it, that's who.
Congrats Mike on turning your life around. Proof that if you make a mistake you can rebound and be redeemed. "There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Funny how people on here claim to be something they really are not. There's people on here commenting that have done much worse but are always the first to judge someone. So if a bank robber goes to prison and pays they're debt to society, I'm guessing most on here wouldn't want them allowed back in a bank or have a right to earn a living .... Hypocrites always hate when others succeed...."Judge not, lest ye be judged"..
Glad for Vick. He is an example that one can turn thier life back around when they mess up. Great example. Hate all you want folks, it is NOT going to change nothing. VICK's jersey is back one of the biggest sellers. so you all can waste you time on a computer complaining about something that you have no controll over. Yes, some may hate Vick but others LOVE HIM and know that life is NOT perfect and that we all fall short but we get back up. If you are looking for a perfect person, you will be alone including from yourselves. NONE of you are perfect either it is just that Vick got caught while others did not get caught.
Vick is a great role model. he got caught and manned up. never complained, never tried to push the blame. he did his time, acted like a man in handling EVERYTHING. has been 100% humble since getting out and back on the field. EVERYONE screws up, not everyone owns up to it. I am so glad to see things picking up for this guy, his story is a great lesson for children.
If what we see from these comments is representative of the public reaction as a whole, I think Nike made a huge mistake. The sports-crazed morons who still worship this journeyman aren't going to buy any more Nike than they ever did, but it sure looks like there are lots and lots of us who will never give them another nickel.

Vuck Fick. He's only sorry because he got caught. Had he not, he'd still be fighting dogs and killing them.
He's already shown his true colors.
@everton: quite watching so much football and listening to Rush. Go back to school because your writing skills suck.
You crack me up. You tell everton to go back to school because his writing skills suck all while using the word "quite" when what you really meant was "quit"... Classic... Thanks for providing me with my "don't be like this dumba$$" moment of the day...
Says the person that cannot spell "quit."
good for him...im a lifetime Falcons fan and was a huge fan of Vivk on the field...the guy deserves a second chance
That's great! I'm glad Nike can is capable of forgiving, unlike so many people on this forum as if they've never done a wrong thing in their life. Michael has made amends.. Live and let live!
Meant quit. Typo
I congrad you NIKE for giving a person a second chance. Who cares what hypocrites have to say.
Great! I'll support Vick & Nike by buying a new pair of Nikes size 13. Now turn around.
Trip is a trip. You are just a racist. If that was Paris hilton or Lohan they will not see a jail term. just saying.
you cannot forgive others if you cannot forgive yourself. lots of you folks have definite issues with forgiveness. it is a mixture of bigots, animal lovers that value the life of a dog over a black man and all kind of other psychological American weirdness.
you buy Nike or not it will not affect him one iota. just accept the fact that he is the best QB
I ATE DOG when i went in shanghai.
it was very tasty.
Vick has served his time and has made a positive transition in his life. May God bless him!
I want this to be an example to the men/women I worked with who mess up in life. I want this to show them that life is not over when you mess up. YOu can change and do better. I wish some people, who are full of nonsense and may do more stuff than the people like Vick had done, would shut up. What you want Vick to do? keep doing crime. Vick is doing better and just give him credit for that. And stop wishing and betting on someone "mess up" again. YOu may find yourselves "messed up" before Vick.
He's not that much richer than I. I got mine honestly by going to school and working not "PLAYING" a game.
I met his brother once, before all the investigation. He was a no good punk too.
what, did Marcus bang your girlfriend?
so playing football, is not an "honest" way to gain money??
Engineer, I highly doubt you are labeled at one, stop posting comments and get back to work, I wanted my burgers 30 minutes ago!
