Nike re-signs Michael Vick

Michael Vick, the star National Football League quarterback whose career was interrupted by a dogfighting conviction, has reached an endorsement agreement with athletic equipment maker Nike.

"We have re-signed Michael Vick as a Nike athlete," Megan Saalfeld, a Nike spokeswoman, said in an e-mail to CNN.

Vick, currently on the roster of the Philadelphia Eagles, served 20 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to bankrolling a dogfighting operation. He has since emerged as a spokesman against dogfighting.

"Michael acknowledges his past mistakes," Saalfeld said. "We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field. "

moral of the story... as long as you do not end up with a life in prison sentence you can do anything you want when you make people $$.

I am getting rid of anything with the Nike label. I understand that people make mistakes but there are mistakes and then there are crimes. Criminals should be allowed to have jobs post-prison but that does not mean making them a poster-child for a product. Is the new slogan: Nike – Footwear for Felons?

So, so happy for Michael Vick. He has paid his debt to society and worked hard to vindicate himself and give back to the community. He has expressed remorse for his actions and he deserves to move on with his life.

Michael Vick, keep God first in your life, and everything else will fall in place. Keeping you in my prayers... now go ahead, and make that money!!!

By the way, we had a police officer here in the San Francisco Bay Area who killed an unarmed Black man and got less time than Michael Vick got for dogs!!!!!!! There's a message in that and I got it!!!

    MAKE THAT MONEY, MICHAEL!

Just because he served time does not mean he's a good guy. He's a depraved, cruel, brutal pos and I wouldn't mourn his death.

Erroneous religions are the number cause for misfortunes... god doesn't exist and did not exist, god is a human creation, it is lower than human beings. Please open your eyes!

I wonder how forgiving everyone would be if a murderer was placed in a halfway house on their block? Would you be so forgiving then? He may not have murdered humans, but statistics show that it is only a matter of time before animal killers move to human victims. Thats how serial killers get started people. Buncha NIMBYS on here! You just give him a pass and make excuses because he plays football and for that you are pathetic

Yeah what was one of the first things he tried to do with his new found freedom? Have his life long ban on owning dogs reversed so he could run out and get another pit bull. Ghetto trash to the end.
