Crystal Cathedral's Schuller bounced from board

The Rev. Robert H. Schuller built the Crystal Cathedral, one of America's first megachurches, from the ground up but now the 84-year-old has been voted out by the church's board.

In a statement issued by the church Monday, church officials said Schuller's role with the board was merely changing.

Schuller's granddaughter, Angie Schuller Wyatt, said the board voted him out because he had been advocating adding more members to the board.

    Please report this as fully as it has been described elsewhere.
    The board's disagreement involves gay marriage.
    Until I read about this today, I was unaware that P. Johnson, the architect of the cathedral, was gay.

    This church is the only thing effected by this. It would seem to be more their business than mine.

    I suppose they can do whatever they want. As for the dude, he's pretty old – but it's religious.. How old was Moses when he retired?

    The board has a right to do anything it thinks will protect its firm's financial stability.
    I'm absolutely certain that they are doing that.

    Religion will gradually pass away.
    The Crystal Cathedral's loss of funding, accompanied by a change from serious, traditional music to gospel style, and a backward movement from "everybodu is welcome" to a fundamentalist exclusion of gays, shows how many more affluent (educated) persons are ceasing to support Christianity.

    God..made everything good including the tools used to make us. Rev.Robert H. Shuller..followed the true word of God to bring His loving strength and kindness to unite us in peace with His family. Evil..seeks to lure us, with complicated arguments, greed, tools of subjugation and lies, away from the simple peace of Gods love for us. Whatever Rev. Schullers age, the message he brought in his ministry in the beginning is as true now as it was then.
