Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

Unintentional term with possibility of parole after 20 years................too many dark areas and no DNA taken to make it conclusive............too many lies not only by her but also by other family members and also the discovery witness...........there is some doubt it was planned...........she is guilty also of concealing other information concerning a third person. My theory is the child was very precocious and demanding and that is why chloroform was used to calm her down but was overused and should NEVER have been used. There was indication that the child was loving but VERY spoiled. Many children are this way and so that is not an excuse for doing what was done.

The question is not if she did it or allowed it to happen (pure negligence),The question is how it happened.

If that were the case, then JP would have instructed the jury from the beginning that their job was to determine how Caylee died. What we heard however was that the jury's job is to determine Casey's guilt or innocence.

The evidence does not point to anyone other than Casey.

Why does the white woman get so much attention by the news. There are so many cases worse than this, but this is another white trash mother and why give her the time of day. Just give her the justice she gave her little girl... Find something else to cover CNN other then the stupid picture of her dumb mother.

You are so right. I saw a bit on another new channel about some white blond college student missing and a corpse being found, now the media is speculating the corpse could be the missing college student. YAWN.....the media have their next while victim.

The jury will have a tough job here IF they following their instructions to the letter of the law.
A hung jury is quite possible IMHO.
One thing bothers me, why was the duct tape left with the remains of poor young Caylee? It seems that any perpetrator of murder would take that evidence and dispose of it to head off a 1st Degree Murder charge.

Which proves George had nothing to do with it. An ex cop would know that.

I think she wanted to knock her daughter out to go party but gave her to much of the chlorophorm (apologize if spelling is incorrect) and she killed her instead. she deserves every guilty verdict she gets. I heard someone comment that Casey Anthony was the bad seed of the family and the parents were turned into liars protecting her. Casey stole money from her parents and grandparents and they never reported it. They were constantly trying to fix what their daughter screwed up. They were just doing what any parent (who hasn't desided to use tough love yet) would do.

I'm sorry, but good parents don't cover up fortheir children. That's why there are so many people who believe they don't have to be responsible for their actions. No excuses!

I agree. And I believe that Casey has been a problem child for a long time, having her parents revolve around her to the point of causing son Lee to feel like he doesn't matter. I think they tried everything BUT tough love which may have saved her from developing into a sociopath.... Not that I am blaming them for Caylees death, mind you. Casey's lies were designed to get her off the hook and also to create enough confusion in her parents that they may just give up in defeat. That whole family needs therapy and I pray they will get it if they are not already. Common sense tells me she is guilty and not likely to be rehabilitated...something is missing inside her. Sad.

I think most everyone can agree this woman was responsible for her daughter's death. However, the prosecution really had no hard evidence that she murdered the child. If they can't even prove HOW the girl died, there is absolutely no legal way you can convict someone of murder.

... sad case. If the States case is not the truth, then Casey should have stepped up and explained what the truth was.

Instead, we heard more garbage... no, trash... no, garbage...

If there is not an alternative truth that actually fits the evidence, then the case that the state presented must be true.

As Mr. Baez said- her life hangs in the balance. If Casey is not willing to tell people what really happened when her life is on the line- then why should anyone step up to save her?

    She is guilty.

    Guilty on all charges!!

There seems to be a questiion of "Did the duct tape kill this little girl"? Maybe not, but the DUCT TAPE WAS PLACED OVER HER MOUTH AND NOSE TO BE SURE SHE WAS DEAD. So, this little girl's mother "threw her away" and if the Grandparents plead for their daughter's life, THEY ALSO HAVE THROWN THIS LITTLE GIRL AWAY!

The lady deserves the death penalty. No other choice.

Who hides an accident to make it look like a murder that implicates themselves? She had every opportunity to report a drowning, call 911...whatever...! It is just like the prosecution said "She lies and when backed in a corner, she doesn't tell the truth like most people who lie...she just makes up another lie. She shows her anger when the jury is out and turns on the tears when the jury is in and it can benefit her. She is a sociopath...she is the only one who matters in her life. Something that normal people have inside is missing in her...empathy and compassion for another human being.

Wow, that is some incredible journalism...watching lawyers have lunch. The media has made this case the circus it has become...why?- for TV ratings. People like Jane Velasquez and Nancy Grace should be ashamed of the television "news" they produce , sensationalist schlock.

Journalism is at it's all time high for schlock reporting. It's like a serious version of the National Enquirer. I hope she get the chair but in our world she will be walking the street at 45 and should have mandatory sterilization. She is a murderer and blames everyone else for her problems. Die You biotche from that dark stank place
