Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

IMO... there are too many holes in the States case. There were too may first time methods of testing used. This was not the time "try it out" in a Capital case. Another thing is the meter reader guy. If the duct tape was used to hang up missing posters...well then EVERYONE has access to that tape!!! I don't think they'll find her guilty on Capital but the lesser charge. Shes not innocent by any means!

Not guilty- this is very sad. She belongs in a mental hospital getting help. Not in jail. She is sick.

She needs to get away from her family and heal. I pray for peace and healing for her and her brother. It's a very sad situation. Cindy deserves the world and to me George is the ring leader of the entire thing. Sick. ðŸ™

How could they possibly convict her of child abuse there is NO evidence whatsoever. Neglect maybe, because she wasn't there when her daughter died, but IF she left the baby with a sitter, there is really no proof of that either. The only thing they may be able to get her on is obstruction of justice, for hiding what happened. But still, nobody KNOWS what really happened, so they can't convict on anything. The verdict has to be not guilty.

@ suzie. once again stupid suzie. nobody knows what happened? o well there was duct tape covering her nose and mouth. hmmm let me put duct tape over your mouth and nose and tell me how it goes. why would u put duct tape over someones nose and mouth after their dead. just for the hell of it? it would make it look a lot worse covering her up with duct tape instead of just saying she used chloroform and by accident used to much and thats how she died.

CNN used to insist on correct pronunciations, but now it's "chlorofoam" and "chlorophyll" that were used. Come on! Really? It's "chloroform." Look it up.

The prosecution has proven absolutely nothing beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict has to be not guilty, period.

The state has not proved beyond a reasonable doubt that she intentionally or unintentionally murdered the baby. There are too many others involved. Unfortunately most or them are liars just as she is . this reminds me of the OJ trial the state could not prove him guilty. I also feel that her public defender was not qualified to try a "Capitol Case.

The state has a very specific burden to prove Casey murdered Caylee. They didn't even come close to proving that. They proved she's a liar, they proved she's a thief, they proved she's a party girl, they proved their forensic evidence is unreliable. It is a shame that justice has not been served for that darling child. But based solely on the evidence, the state did not prove their burden. There is not one shred of forensic evidence linking Casey to the murder and remains of her child. That "smell of decomposition" could have been any number of things, and there was not enough evidence in the trunk of that car that proves beyond a reasonable doubt that a dead body was decomposing in that trunk. Something more should have been found other than one hair and a bad smell. With the science available to forensic experts, something more should have been brought forth, some damning evidence, in order to find her guilty. Everyone who says "fry her" is acting on emotion and not intelligently looking at the evidence of the case. I'm not saying she's innocent of any wrongdoing, I'm just saying the state did not PROVE their case. Just my opinion.

Many people have been convicted of first degree murder with NO body. In this case, there is a body. We may never know how she died, but her behavior is not that of a mother who lost a child, even if accidentally. I don't think she will get first degree murder but I do believe she will be convicted. Baez seems to have made enough stupid comments that I would think she could fight for a new trial based on his behavior. I think this thing will be tied up in the system for years to come.

Great great point, my wife and I have been keeping up with this since '08 when it all started. And I totally agree with you that her demeanor is that of an unstable person...Like you said even if it were an accident don't you think you would show some kind emotion....I hope they find her guilty and put her to death...I just have a feeling that she's going to get off on the more sever chargers (I hope not).

Guilty as sin. They don't even reject it – they fight between negligence that leaded to death or murder. If person knows that he caused death this his own baby and regrets it – it is obvious. She is fighting for her freedom, she doesn't give a damn about dead child. Execute her.

A circus side show is an understatement. Our liberal media is foaming at the mouth over this possible outcome. When Jane Mitchell is running across a parking lot to ask Baez a question there is something wrong with our media. They are so damn biased it's disgusting. They had her convicted long before the trial began. I'm ashamed to call myself an American by what I watch on TV. Our media is out of control and our judicial system plays right into their hands.

let her go! i'm not saying she's innocent but if they cant evidently show how she died, or the murder weapon, then she is not guilty of murder

They showed both how she died and the murder weapon. Perhaps you didn't get a chance to watch the trial. Both were shown quite clearly and conclusively.

Is it the state of things these days that with all the lying that Casey did, plus the evidence the state gathered that there are people who believe she didn't do it? The prosecution laid out point by point everything that she did, first by not reporting her daughters disappearance, to lying about who was last with her, to then claiming it was an accidental drowning that her father covered up, to her lack of concern or care that her daughter was gone or dead. How can people still believe she did not do it? Astonishing! Do you need video tape of her killing her daughter for you to believe it?
