Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

To Willow: You may say that there were murder weapons. However, where were the finger prints , or DNA on any of these pieces of tape. Unless I'm watching something different, they never found any. still no conviction for murder!

I think she's very disturbed and has some serious behavioral issues but the question has to be, Is there enough evidence to convict? It seems the prosecution is basing their case on her behavior. I've seen a number of other cases where this was the main focus of the case but turned out to be false assumptions. There seems to be a standard of normal behavior that people HAVE to follow or they MUST be guilty..right? Not always the case. The juries of some of these cases came back with guilty verdicts which ended up being turned-over later because evidence was found to be contaminated or DNA exonerated the defendant.

I would just have a hard time convicting someone based on the way they acted, especially for murder. I want some physical evidence. Just something to think about before emotion is allowed to make the decision.

A side note though, regardless of this case, someone needs to arrest and convict Nancy Grace of being a horrible human being. To slander someone before they are found guilty or not is not what our respective countries are built on. She is a trash journalist that only makes CNN look like a joke network.

I totally agree. She is very one sided and biased. The complete opposite of what our justice system or any correspondent reporting about our justice system is supposed to be.

I agree 100% with you. I glad I'm not the only one who finds Nancy Grace to be an embarrassment to CNN. While we're at it, please get Jane Valez Mitchel off of CNN too. I can't stand listening to her or Nancy. The are both some of the worst people on TV. CNN should be ashamed of itself for putting these two loud mouths on TV.

she killed her, no doubt. that kid was murdered by her ho mother. she deserves to die but it would take too long. just beat her until she's dead, toss her in the trash, and pray for all victims, and all children.

There is no evidence beyond reasonable doubt to make her guilty. But for the charge of not reporting to Police timely and trying to hide the incident, there is nothing here. If she is given guilty of any murder sentence then it is just failure of system and high handedness of the State to put her to death or life.
She should be able to either walk free or get 1-2 yrs for not reporting.
As much we love the little girl but there is nothing showing she killed her. She died of some accident and she did not know how to handle the situation or feared for her life

Oh pleeeeaaasssseee .... All this about how Casey and Jose Baez are so bonded, yadda, yadda, yadda ... If she is convicted (please God!) the FIRST motion her NEW counsel will file is "ineffective assistance of counsel"! She will throw him under the bus in a heartbeat and without a speck of conscience – just like she did her father, mother, and brother. Oh and like she smothered her child and pitched her in the swamp to rot when she got in the way of the *bella vita*!

A client is not compelled to tell the truth to her attorney. Some defense attorneys proclaim that they never ask their clients what happened, they just tell them what the police reports say. That way if they have to call their client to the stand there is no risk that they may be suborning perjury. I always wanted to know the truth, and believed very strongly in 2 principles. First, that my client had the right to remain silent. Secondly, that anythiing my client told me was confidential. So the answer is no and yes . . .sorry

This whole case is ridiculous, if casey anthony wasn't guilty she would've a: taken the stand to defend herself rather than hiding behind her lawyers , and b: she would've never smiled or laughed or joked in court, not only does she not take this case seriously but she doesn't seem to mind at all that her daughters remains were found.. That her daughter is dead? if I was on trial for the murder of my own daughter I don't think I'd be as contained and emontionless as Casey anthony is day after day. I don't believe In the death penalty because I see that as the easy way out. She should rot in prison.

Not guilty. Baez was brilliant. 120 minutes. No notes. Carefully exposed the State's case for what it was. Arrogance and Fantasy Forensics do not equal evidence. We all "know" she did it? Why? Because she is a liar? Liars are not murderers. Problem is that the State did not prove she murdered her daughter. The defense called 10 to 12 cops and FBI experts to impeach the State's "experts." The State tried to cover up the reports of its own officers. Juries do not like prosecutors who play hide the ball. Baez sliced and diced Ashton and there is nothing that the jury was given that is proof beyond a reasonable doubt. There are more questions than answers. Not guilty. Liked the Judge.

@ send her to texas- If you are any indication of the state of Texas' educational system (she knew cindy would eventually realize baby was gone if she lied bcuz she was scared to tell cindy baby drowned, she was agassiz ifc her reaction, how did she think she was going to react when she eventually found out and realized they lied?????" - is that even English?). I think it would be a bad idea for anyone to stand trial in Texas.
