Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

Jane Velez Mitchell is a joke and she should be fired for her behavior. She is exactly what's wrong with this country. What happens Jane if the 1/2 hr isn't long enough for you to get in pace for the outcome will HLN and CNN make a call to the judge for you so you can run across the parking lot again? You are pathetic.

I think Casey will need some psycho analist when all this is over, If she did kill her daughter how would any mother be able to ride around with her in car, ghastly but I dont think casey is capable of that, maybe after theapy she might say it all then. I stand by Casey at this time.

you are lost poor sol-less fool to stand by that lying child killer. She "plainly" got rid of her child to have freedom and live the life she WISH she had.. She didn't leave that baby behind for her parents to raise because she hated that her parents gave so much attention to that beautiful baby and not her. (casey) I pray Casey gets 1st degree murder charge and spend the rest of her days in a cell. There is no way she is innocent or anyone else could do this when the tape was over the baby's mouth and a sticker THAT WAS FOUND IN THE HOUSE placed on the tape. NO REMORSE she cried when they spoke of HER consequences not of the MURDER of her baby.

I have watched the trail from the beginning. Someone would have to be blind not to find her GUILTY. She has snowed no remorse for anything she has done nor has she showed any reaction to the death of her little girl. Why lie to everyone if it was an accendent??? 99.99999% of people who find their child or anyone for that matter floating facedown in a swimming pool will call 911 not put them in a trash bag and toss the bag into the woods like garbage. the death penity is too good for casey she needs to sit in her cell for the rest of her natural life and think about what she has done to Cayley.

The IT guy will want concrete evidence. He's trained to problem solve. The First juror being a Mom and Nurse will side with Casey's mom. But who knows.

My theory is this: Casey Anthony did not mean to kill Caylee. Casey had plans to do her own thing rather than take care of her daughter. She researched chloroform on her home computer and came up with the idea of using it to knock Caylee out, put duct tape over her mouth to keep her quiet. This is child abuse and endangerment. She either overdosed the Caylee with it or in combination with the duct tape, Caylee suffocated. This is second degree murder as it was not premeditated. Casey wrapped Caylee up in a blanket and garbage bag with the intention of digging a hole in the backyard. Meanwhile Caylee's body is decomposing in the truck of her car Digging a hole would have taken too long so she decided to put Caylee's body on the side of the road near her home. In the meantime, she stayed at various friends' homes telling everyone that the babysitter has Caylee. Her mother finds out the baby has been missing for a long time and calls the cops telling them the baby's been missing and the car smells like a dead body has been in it. We find out that Casey never had the job she said she did, there was no babysitter (this is lying to the police), among other things. The concept that George had something to do with it is ludicrous. We've had cases where kids have drowned in pools and it's chalked up as an accidental drowning with the cops being notified of that right off the bat! To have the baby drown and try to cover it up as a murder is dumb! That's what I think anyway.

using chloroform and searching it 83 times on your computer it could be considered premeditated murder.

I agree with most of what you said, however, a person doesn't use chloroform AND duct tape to render a child unconscious.

All good points. My thought it was premiditated because of the google searches and the fact that 3 pieces of tape were used and not 1. Also, why would someone use chloroform to sedate someone? Tylenol pm's are sold over the counter and a much safer alternative. I think she will get murder 1 with life.

Kathy, what you just described is Still First Degree Murder. It's not Premeditated first degreee murder but Felony First Degree Murder. The judge explained this.

That explanation of chloroforn and duct tape makes no sense at all. The ONLY reason to put tape over someones mouth AND nose is for the purpose of depriving the person if air and killing them. The" accident" hypothesis holds no water whatsoever.

That's still aggravated child abuse. If a child dies during aggravated child abuse where the abuse was premeditated, it's still 1st degree murder regardless of whether the defendant "intended" the death.

I think u are somewhat right , but i do think that she drowned in the pool and was to afraid of her parents and they would think she was high or something and not watching her child , ( which is probably true) and just freaked she did not learn all this lying overnight and her parents have showed in court they are liars too.....something is up with the whole family

Kathy- premeditated -AS THE JUDGE SAID before turning the case over to the jury- is not determined by "time line" it can be a moment, and hour even a day before the murder. It means the time it takes to reflect. She reflected alright. She took the time to put the tape over the mouth AND the sticker. The only was it is NOT premeditate is when it is a quick reaction. SO many things can be premeditated in the courts eyes. She used thought whether it was a drowning or a planned murder on a certain day at a certain time- She is obviously guilty of murder 1

Kathy. What you have just described is first degree murder in the state of Florida. It makes no difference if the death was premeditated or not. If the child's death occurred durring the commission of another crime it is considered 1st degree (some states call it felony murder.) Disabling your child so you can go partying is certainly a crime; therefore, first degree murder is appropriate and punishable by death.

I truly believe that Casey killed her baby, Caylee! How could she do such a horrible thing to "her own" child! I would have taken Caylee in a heartbeat if she didn't want her, why didn't she just give her up to someone that would love her and NEVER hurt her, WHY? Rest in Peace, my darling, Caylee! I didn't know you, but I fell in love with you, you will always be in my heart!!!

So true and this is America and u cannot convict anyone if there is responsible doubt and there is a lot of it in this case....
and if she is convicted then there is know justice in are court system... she may be a killer but they did not prove it..... just because they found her by her house does not mean she killed her look a little miss Ramsey she was found in their house and know one was charged

As a parent of a 3 and 4 year old it makes me really sad to see people like Casey. She is guilty of not caring for her little girl. Evidence or not she should be given life so she can think about her little girl everyday.

I had a step Daughter 20 yrs ago who had 2 kids before she was 21.. She wanted to party more then take care of her kids who were all living with my wife and me.. I think at that time she would have done away with them because they (the kids) were interfering with her life style.....

MAN.. I hope that really is a guy and not a woman.. if its a woman I BET that is my step mom.. step monster. HOW can you say something SO horrible?? I would have turned around that whole statement and APPRECIATE that the step daughter had the family members that would allow her to live a life of a youngster and TEACH her to be a good mother. I hope you can appreciate the struggles all parents/family members have with toddlers in their lives
