Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey AnthonyĀ – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

Whether Casey in fact had something to do with Caylee's death is irrelevant. The issue is proof beyond reasonable doubt, and I think the defense offered a reasonable alternative story. The partying for a month does not surprise me. A young woman in Orlando goes to a few bars and hangs out with her friends. Big deal.

its not a big deal that a women 25 years of age goes partying at bars in orlando. but while your child is missing. it actually is a big deal. 1 day after caylee goes missing. your able to get up and go partying? really?wow wish i had her power to get over stuff that easily. o i think she went out and partied because she killed her daughter and didnt have to worry about taking care of a baby anymore.

Have you ever served on a jury? received instructions from a judge? There can always be alternative theories. Green men in spaceships coulda done it. That's not the point. It's not that there is NO alternative - only no REASONABLE alternative. Where was Caylee? Why couldn't she say? She has custody of the child and the child disappeared and she could never explain where she was. Think.

You are disgusting and clearly have no children of your own. I hope people like you do not comprise the jury.

One theory I have is that Casey Anthony wanted to get rid of her child. She found a pedophile who was willing to take her and he killed her, possibly without her knowledge. And what if the guy who found her body turned out to be the pedophile?

Wow, this never came up on either side of the case. Are you kidding me? You have to consider the EVIDENCE or lack of evidence. Not making up this ridiculous assertions.

Neither side did a very good job. Reminds me oif the OJ case in more ways than one. As pathetic as the prosecuter was, they have enough for a conviction.

I think she should get manslaughter, for the death of her child, as intent was not evident and their is no solid evidence she murdered her child in a plot for personal gain. It' is an evidence issue on murder with intent, putting aside it's a child, many men and women have only gotten manslaughter for more than this b/c it was for an adult, everyone should check their emotions on this one and look at the law and what needs to be presented for a death penalty case.

I really feel that the case has been proven and that Casey is guilty. I feel for George, Cindy and the rest of the family because this Holiday will mean something totally different to them for the rest of their lives. I pray that they can make it though this tough time as a couple. They need eachother.

While I believe this woman has serious psychologocial problems, I also believe she did kill her daughter. I also believe her parents were enablers – why did it take then more than a month to ask questions? Is the family dysfunctional, yes! Are her parent to blame, no. We are all responsible for our own actions. This girl just "wanted to have fun" – she should have put Caylee up for adoption or allowed her parents guardianship. It is an America tragedy.

This is tragedy made into a circus sideshow. However the child died, the woman is clearly a sociopath. She did in real life what Eliza Doolittle sang she wanted to do in My Fair Lady:

"Just you wait, 'enry 'iggins, till you're sick, And you scream to fetch a doctor double-quick. I'll be off a second later And go straight to the the-ater! Oh ho ho, 'enry 'iggins, just you wait!"

Casey ā€œwent to town!ā€ That is OK is a Broadway musical. It is NOT OK when the woman is the mother with custodial responsibility for her 2 1/2 year old child.

But before anyone passes judgment, he/she needs to carefully differentiate between justice and vengeance. If your goal is to reincarnate the child then your approach is wrong. No amount of vengeance inflicted upon the mother will do that. You need to contact Genentech and request cloning.

Casey appears to be too sociopathic not to be locked up. If you find that abhorrent or too expensive, then at least ensure the woman undergoes sterilization to prevent a recurrence of this fiasco, if and when she is set free.

She didn't have a babysitter all the time because her mom would say no sometimes but excepted Casey to be responsible with her daughter and didn't think she wouldn't be. I think Casey did this on accident with what ever she used to put her to sleep like she had done before only this time it killed her. She panicked and wanted to make it look like someone else did it. That is why she avoided her family she couldn't explain it to them why she would do that and that there was no nanny. She lied so much to cover up her actions. I do not believe George would let his daughter sit in jail over a drowning accident and he certainly would not throw Caylee in the woods or have her body disposed of that is preposterous. I think Casey is young and dumb and wanted freedom. She is guilty of child neglect and which ever count of murder it is that was unintentional. She is guilty of lying to law enforcement. Can not remember the other counts against her. She should sit in jail for several years. She is the only one that knows the truth and is not telling it. She wasted everyone's time and money by not telling the truth.

What kind of mother would not report her child missing for one month if she wasn't guilty. Her parents were good to her and did everything for Caylee. She is a liar and a sociopath and she cares for no one but herself. RIP***Caylee I hope she spends the rest of her life in prison. No I do not hope she gets the Death penalty her mother has endured so much pain so maybe they will spare her life for Cindy Anthony.

As long as the kid did not suffer, it is fine. Mothers killing their young is very common. The state should set up some kind of infant depository or controlled environment. That way we could avoid these types of trials.

Why is it that Caylee was fine until Casey was the sole person responsible for her. People are watching too much CSI to think there will be DNA and fingerprints on a body and evidence in water for months.

There is no need for strips of duct tape on face if the little girl had drowned, this alone throws the defense out... lies, lies and more lies. You can not believe a thing Casey says.

Guilty Felony Murder in the First, Death Penalty. The prosecution did a wonderful job and Jose Baez just danced around in smoke and mirrors and did not provide a logical alternative. Guilty

Um, no. The prosecution did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. Casey Anthony should only be found guilty of lying and should be sentenced to time served already. Let this poor woman try to rebuild here shattered life.
