It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.
Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

For God's Sake People! Someone murdered that precious child and we know who did it! CASEY!!!! And only CASEY!!!
Life in prison is not good enough! She needs to be put to death. She does not deserve to live. She took a life and the state of Florida should take hers! She has lied from day one.
All of our heads are spinning. Imagine how the jury feels. We just don't know exactly how she died. Why is this case o complicated?
I thought thos case was going to b so simple. Truth is although she may have one of the worse lawyers in history he may have been able to have the jury puzzled about what really happened. Either way that poor baby is gone and her mother had something to do with it. At first I thought the death penalty but life is good enough.
She is certainly guilty of the death of her daughter. However, the "how" and the motive have not been proven by the prosecution, and I believe the jury will struggle with this verdict for a few days.... possibly even to the point of a hung jury. It will be a sad waste of taxpayer's money to try the case all over again, but the prosecution just doesn't have enough for a solid conviction in my opinion. Justice is best served in the end with life without parole, just to give Casey a chance to enjoy the "party life" in prison.
What some people don't seem to get is that EVEN if it had been an accidental overdose of either, this qualifies as FELONY MURDER under the State statutes, because the child died during the commission of a felon (child abuse...ether).
How anyone could listen to the facts of the case and say there was "no proof" is stunning. Do you need a home movie?
No one has mentioned this, but I 'll bet anything the boyfriend wishes he had never met Casey Anthony. I am confident that she is guilty.
The question keeps getting asked "Why would George Anthony hide his granddaughter's body if he found her drowned in the pool? Why not just call 911?" But this assumes that the child did in fact drown. If the child was already dead because of an earlier assualt committed by George, and he only pretended to find her body in the pool, then his behavior makes perfect sense. As a former police officer, he knows that the medical examiner would check the child's lungs for fluid and discover the deception. Moreover, if he assaulted her then his DNA may have been inside the body, directly implicating him. So he would have to hide the body until it was sufficiently decomposed to prevent a thorough examination. By staging the drowning, George accomplishes two objectives: He buys himself much needed time. For if Cayley had simply disappeared then Casey would simply call her mom to find out if she had the child (it's the most logical assumption), and Cindy would know Cayley was missing right away. But if Casey believed that her daughter had drowned and that she was to blame, George knew she would withdraw into a state of total denial and behave guilty, making her the perfect patsy. Secondly, by staging the drowning George turns Casey into an alibi witness, since she believes that the death was accidental and that George merely found her after the fact. But she would have no way of knowing what may have transpired before George awoke her to allegedly inquire about Cayley's whereabouts. But, of ocurse, all of this works only if George can hide his granddaughter's body and her disapperance long enough for the body to decompose.
Then why Zanny the nanny? My oh my, you seem to be as twisted as the defendant.
Either hung jury or N-not guilty of First Degree, possibly a lesser of the charges. Guilty for lying to police. Not guilty on other accounts sense prosecution didn't even touch on those really. The prosecution just did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey murdered her daughter with predetermined intention and disposed of that body. 3 pieces of duct tape, one found 6 feet away (which prosecution doesn't mention of course.) The other dangling from a hair mat and I dont recall the other. Could or couldn't have been over the mouth and nose. Could have tied the bag off, could have not. The heart shaped sticker found near an elemntary school a good distance away from the body. Seriously? I suppose those heart shaped stickers of Caylee's would match possibly. But wouldn't any other 3 year old girls? The evidence of the trunk is almost silly. Air samples finding chloraform weeks later done by a guy with a possible financial motive to sell that product. Okay so chloroform was found in a piece of carpet or whatever. Also consistent with cleaning supplies. Chloroform is found in ALOT of things, natural and artifical. A few people smelling a smell of "death" yet there are multiple people who didn't smell it around the same time period. Also the fact the only did qualitative analysis and not quantative which is necessary to put the levels into perspective to see if the really are "unusually high." Also the fact that there really isn't a 100% established science involving what exactly is expected to be found in a decomposing body. And weren't there only like 5 of the 31 expected chemicals present which were put with confidence into the final report? Those searches that are the only evidence prosecution presented to prove 1st degree, 84 searches of how to make chloroform? People type bizzare, off the wall things into Google all the time. I certaintly have looked up sick and ridiculous things myself. Also weren't these searches 3 months prior? Though I do find it strange her mother Cindy would lie about making the searches herself. It's strange. The whole awkward thing with the guy who found the body, Voch or something like that and the phone calls with his son. Just seems a little strange that he would find a dead little girls body and take no for an answer. I mean especially when he knew the media was a few blocks away in masse. It just presents a strange; "I wonder..." scenario to the jury. Don't get me wrong. She is the most pathological liar I think anyone has ever seen in their life. She did act very very strange and obviously mourns in her own little way that i'm sure 99% of the world doesn't even see as mourning. But still. I just wasn't convinced beyond a reasonable doubt she intentially murderded her child and disposed of the body. But deep down, I think we all know she had some hand in it. I just believe the case presented by prosecution is not strong enough to absolutely convince an entire jury
i search weird things in google all the time. however i do not search the same thing 83 times unless i am actually looking for that exact thing 83 times. which maybe the 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th or even 8th time she just typed it in to see what chloroform is what it does how its made sure. but 83 times? what is she looking that up for 83 times? how much can you even read about the same thing 83 times. what is the reason she needed to do research on chloroform 83 times. was she doing a school project? no. so what is she googling something like that for 83 times? idk maybe to put your child to sleep ok. you wanna go out and party you dont want to pay a babysitter you put her in your trunk and go party. not sure why you would even do that to your own daughter maybe just put her up for adoption would have worked better. but hey even if she did do it to put her to sleep so she can go party why not just tell the police listen i did it it was an accident. sure she would get in trouble go to jail for however long. sure she wouldnt get the death penalty if she actually just came clean. but giving all these lies should be considered interfering with an on going investigation. but no she didnt want to go the route of it was an accident. lets bring up something that has nothing to do with my baby dying. lets talk about my father molesting and abusing me while i was a child. um why bring that up? what does that have anything to do with your baby dying? o now your going to say your father killed your daughter? ok go with that. so by accident the father was watching caylee she sneaked around him went swimming drowned and now george has to cover it up. instead of just saying it was an accident let me throw the body away and blame it on my daughter. well why didnt casey blame it on her father at all, all the times he visited her in jail. instead of saying dad you have been a great father and great grandfather. idk you tell me. these are pretty good evidence that this girl is clearly a liar. rather have lived a life of partying and not taking care of a beautiful daughter. and wants to blame everyone else around her.
Guilty. As I see the facts this may actually have been an accidental overdose of Chloro turned in to a muder charge due to Caseys inability to take the blame for what she did.She Cholor Caylee to mabe keep her sleeping due to not being able to find a sitter so she could go out and have fun.She came back and Caylee didn`t wake up.She couldn`t go home with out Caylee because her parents would question why Caylee wasn`t with her. So she drove around and who knows what. Her car was towed, she made multiple excuses where she and Caylee was and oops slipped up.Mommy caought her in a lie! Ok so best thing for her to do was lie again and tell the 911 operator she spoke to Caylee that morning? BAD MOVE! So she carried on the lies. Now there is no gettin gout of it. She may have saved face a little bit if she would have gotten on the stand and finally told the truth but again she didn`t.
Alas poor little Casey is GUILTY! GUILTY of killing her beautiful little girl, GUILTY of not telling the truth,GUILTY of neglect, abuse, drugging her child, hiding her little tiny body, tossing her little girl out in the trash. She is GUILTY and should be placed in solitary confinement with nothing to watch but home movies of Caylee ! She shouldn`t be given the death penalty, that isn`t a punishment for a monster like her. They should just keep her and let the movies of her adorable little girl haunt her and drive her insane and make her wish every day she was dead herself but ofcourse that time will come with nature and I hope she lives to be a ripe old age in that demented mind of hers. Am I angry, hell yes.I would never do anything to hurt my kids or put them in harms way.I raised my kids, all 6 of them and all boys and not once did I ever regret or want for the freedom I would have had if I never had them.I am very happy being a mother for 24 years and I have one more child left to end out in to the world to be the best person he can be. Casey Anthony,if I could say one thing to you its your legacy is your children and YOU KILLED YOURS!
That's ALL speculation though. Prove to me that she chloroformed her daughter everynight. Chlorform is so common and wasn't even found in the remains of Caylee. Not that anything was found because the body was so gone. Let's not forgot the death was ruled undetermined. You left absolutely no reason or evidence as to why you believe she's guilty. It can all be explained, even in unusual ways sometimes. Which presents reasonable doubt there are other possibilities, other scenarios in which the evidence is presented by prosecution. You cannot base your judgment on your emotion, which you seem to be doing. Mentioning your family and all is showing you are emotionally biased. That's not the law. It doesn't matter what you believe could have happened, or what you believe happened. It's what the evidence the prosecution is showing points to and adds up to.
well said.
asking for a shovel from a neighbor? she is surely guilty.
Sorry for the typo....make that "ether."
time to get the chair ready! this is a good use of electricity.
i honestly believe casey killed her daughter i am a young mother and God forbid something happened to my child there is no way i could sit in a court room without crying constantly i would have to be hospitalized. there is noway an innocent person could go out and party thats a sign of guilt not a strange way of grieving
I am a mother of two, and at one point I thought about giving my kids up for adoption. And I once had a dream about killing them. It was a nightmare actually. But I can understand if Casey did do it. And I think she deserves rehabilitation and reform. Most people seem upset that she did not mourn properly. That is an issue of "normalization" in Foucault's terms. We love you Casey!
"We love you Casey!"???? Speak for yourself! I hope you either got help or gave up your kids. I have been a financially strained single mom of a difficult toddler and the worst thought I had was of busting his little rear! I simply cannot relate to any mom who idealizes killing their child.
It looks to me like premeditation was involved, and thus murder 1 and a needle
