Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

    A friend of mine was on a jury for a double homicide – a guy shot in cold blood two teenagers. Everyone knew the guy committed the crime, but because the prosecution couldn't prove their case they had to follow the rules and laws and did him not guilty. She said it was the hardest thing to do in her life, cAuse everyone knew he murdered the teens, but u cannot bring personal opinion in a verdict

    If it were an accident, she would have called 911. It wasn't an accident, and she searched for chloroform on the mother's computer when mother was at work. This is first degree premeditated, and she should be executed. Baez should be give a life sentence for defending a lying murder with lying testimony.

    Truth be told, I have not followed the case as closely as some of othe bloggers. But based on what I've heard and read here's my summation. Picture walking into a room and seeing a man standing over a blood-soaked body with a bloody knife in his hand.Is it possible that he walked in just after the crime took place, pick up the knife so as to secure and stood over the boddy guarding it so to preserve the crime scene? Sure it is. Is it likely?

    Katy gets it. I hope this jury is as wise as the Scott Peterson jury and not as clouded as the OJ Simpson jury! I pray that they don't let all the smoke the defense tried to blow cloud their decision.

    The judge is one of the ONLY intelligent ppl in this court room but in every other area there has been a show of ignorance, from the childish lawyers on both sides,to the ignorant (grandparents?) who for 31 days didn't see their own new granddaughter b4 they think something's wrong, to the ignorant folks in the audience who are fighting, tripping, and gouging the eyes of others outside to get a ticket into the courtroom, to the ignorant monster whose on trial who thinks her lies will save her from anything. Widespread ignorance in raw form. I commend you judge for remaining intelligent and full of professionalism in the midst of an abundance of ignorant ppl. Bless your heart.

    if the jury isn't suppose to have prior knowledge or opinions about what happened, How can the state or defense be satisfied they they had an unbiased jury, that wasn't contaminated by the medias opinion? Compliments to Brad for this posting.

I find the way you all assume to know she did this ,only not one thing has been proved in this case. George is hiding a secret ,bet on that.       Bella, how many hours of the actual courtroom proceedings have you watched? How many times were you at the courtroom? Are you a police officer or attorney?....I have watched every minute...not media speculation...the actual trial. Casey Anthony is guilty! And there is more than enough evidence that proves it beyond a reasonable doubt. I'm thankful you and "Susan" are not on that jury!

      Justice For Caylee!!! This trial and verdict is for an angel who no longer has a voice. Casey knows what happen to Caylee and the State of Florida has proven this case beyond reasonable doubt.

      You are so right I am 70 years old and have been "Foreperson" on three trials. Bottom line is so clear (it was from the start) and it is called Reasonable Doubt. That is what dictates the jury's decision. No matter what you think – just one item that causes Reasonable Doubt means not guilty because everything in this case that was presented has to be beyond a Reasonable Doubt. I believe no one will ever know what truly happened. But you do not convict someone because of your emotional feelings.

      Lets just say she didn't kill caylee right?... What was here reason lieing to the law enforcement? She had to know something or gulity of something .If a mother is really concerned about finding there child they would tell everything and the truth to get there child back safely

      No reason to attack Bella for her opinions...the prosecution did not prove it's case. The jurors did their job and made a decision based on the facts that were presented to them. This case had so many twists and turns and people lying...there was no hard evidence. Even the experts couldn't agree on the most important components of this case...which was how this precious little girl died...without that, how can you determine murder versus an accident. Casey going out and partying as sick as it was, doesn't prove she murdered her daughter. We can all think what we want, but it comes down to what can be proved in a courtroom.

      I totally disagree with you Bella! I have watched EVERY minute of the trial...MY OPINION is NOT "MEDIA" influenced. The prosecution may not have had the evidence for the murder in the first...but NO LOVING MOTHER FAILS TO REPORT HER DAUGHTER HAS DROWNED...DISPOSES OF THE BODY...and resumes partying like nothing happened! Do you have children BELLA? If so could you imagine or anyone reading.. not reporting your child has been hurt much less has died and then just dump their precious body to rot somewhere...no funeral...no memorial??! ARE YOU SERIOUS? these are not the actions of a "loving" mother!!

      I agree, the hate iin peoples heart is not good because if they get called for jury duty for someone else, their minds would be made up based on this case and again justice will be unfair. The world we live in says BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT those jurors were smart people and had knowledge on medicine, computers, and the issues at trial, explain this angry people who calls (911 for gas cans missing but doesnt call 911 for grandaughter who trys to kill themselves and goes on the today show the next morning hmmmm reasonable doubt sitting in, I believe with my whole heart that George helped her with the accident only because he not only messed with daughter but if autopsy on Caylee was done they would of found he messed with her as well. I have spoken with lots of kids messed with by parents and they are mentally messed up. George never answered with NO , Wheres the brother he disappeared as well? why but then George says I think they made the right decision, someone accuse you of a crime and distroy your family wouldnt hv nothing to do with her.No matter what God is the final judge and the sins you are doing against her is no better then the sins she did there is no sin sin greater then the other FACT .
