Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

Guilty!! Did you see Casey make all those little gestures and her head back and forth showing "no" when the the last closing argument was presented.BTW I thought that lady (?) hit the ball out of the park in wrapping it all up. You better believe we will know every single comment within hours on the news. I thought that the person on trial is supposed to remain silent no shaking of head nothing. Am I wrong? Isn't that trying to send messages to the jurors? You know those jurors were looking at her. She knew it too. Sneaky no good liar. I hope one didn't sway from guilty just because of that that little display she does so well by feeling sorry for her. The crying, that too, what a fake. We women know what real crying is. Tears coming down mascara coming down with the tears...a real mess. When they are fake tears we know the difference fake tears when women pat under their eye lids with a tissue pretending to sniff and hide their faces. Casey is more concerned about her make up getting smeared. This alone just showed me how selfish she is. Why should she be wearing eye mascara in the first place? I can see lipstick. Just a show. She loves it. Looking over at the monitor making sure she is on t.v. Attention on her that's all she wanted. How cunning she is. Get our eyes off the evidence and look at her patting her lower lids to show to all that she is trying to be strong for her daughter that she is NOT guilty of doing the most hideous thing a mother could ever do. Killing her own child like she was garbage. Remember, there was a hurricane that passed through Florida earlier in summer so that little angel could have been any where even under water. You can't pick up DNA when it's been in water. One other thing, remember on the mouth on the duct tape on Cayley's face was that little heart sticker? Remember now that came from Casey's room. There was a whole whole roll of them some were missing. Go figure. 100% guilty no death but life.

Please do not think your moral superiority makes you the Judge and Jury. Please get off your high horse before you fall flat on your face by "wrapping it all up". People who judge and wish demise on others are not navigating with a moral compass, but a self serving one. And prosecutors that eat their lunch by making a living off the demise of others are as moral as their career choice.

The State did not prove it's case. It must be one of the hardest things to be a juror faced with deciding a case like this – your gut tells you that the mom had to be involved – yet there is zero evidence linking her to the death of the child. And there are so many lingering questions....

Why does a person, George Anthony, with a law enforcement background get in a car that stinks of decomposition not call the police? Why does Lee say he is "broken" at the funeral? They may all know what happened.

The hair found in the trunk is conclusive evidence that Caylee's body was in the trunk. The hair was from a dead person, from Caylee's mother's side of the family, and all alternatives other than Caylee were ruled out (by the hair's length, its being untreated, etc). Other evidence strongly corroborates the State's case whether or not it is conclusive like the hair is.

a problem in this country is that because of the "CSI effect" everyone wants DNA evidence, camera evidence, etc, etc, etc. all showing specifically what has happened. that is just not possible!! they presented plenty of evidence proving her guilt beyond a REASONABLE doubt. We can't always have fingerprints and DNA on a knife while showing the attacker on video camera, we make inferences on what happened. there is scientific and forensic evidence proving she did this along with flat out common sense. But those who say the state didn't disprove every other possible scenario....they don't have to!! They didn't disprove Caylee wasn't abducted by aliens..but they don't have to!! People have been found guilty of murder without a body ever being found. It is what the evidence shows that matters, not what they failed to show!

yes they did not. Hair in the trunk – Looks like Peabody does not have children. Taken them to the beach and comeback with their stuff. So if one finds my hair in the trunk – it is CONCLUSIVE that I am DEAD! Wow – where did these geniuses go in solving the other murder mysteries .. Law and Order ?

The hair was from a *dead* person, not just any old hair.

First, the hair was found in the trunk. Second, it was shown independently, by the nature of the hair root, that it was from a dead person. This suggests that the dead body the hair came from was in the trunk. The smell corroborates that explanation. One can imagine other possibilities, but are they "reasonable"? Perhaps something that was in contact with the hair was put in the trunk - a hair that was from a body that had been dead for some time. Less likely, but not impossible. But not any less damning. That would not explain the smell, either.

I think she harmed that child. But what I think doesn't matter. The prosecution did not prove that she did, and that is the long and short of it. Looking only at the evidence there is plenty of doubt as to how the child died and at whos hands.
There is plenty of proof of criminal misconduct, I bet she goes to prison but probably not for murder.

If I hear another person blame the dad, kronk or anyone else I will puck. She is guilty. Who cares if the dad allegedly slept around, who cares if the family is viewed as creepy. What if kronk (far fetched ambit is) hid the body blah, blah, blah. The child did not fling herself into the pool, duck tape herself, crawl into the back of casey's car and drive herself to the marsh. Oh, one more thing. Water, two hurricanes and a swamp filled with animals – duh, of course there is no dna. Does not matter. No hearsay, tumors or alleged plots matter. What does matter is that the child was last in the custody with her mother and ends up dead. Murder – lying to authorities etc. Little girl, duck tape over the mouth, in a laundry bag and dumped in the marsh. It does not matter what killed her- it obviously was not natural causes. That equates to murder. She deserves the death penalty and I hope she gets it.

  7. I'm just saying

convict her and sentence her to a lifetime behind one way glass and having to watch a room full of people partying, dancing and drinking .. they will not be able to see her.... now that would be suffering for her.

I know someone just like Casey Anthony: had my son, but wanted (and had) to have her cake and eat it too. She is a sociopath, borderline personality disorder. Never analyzed by psychiatrist to my knowledge, but looking into her personality traits, as well as my son's adolescent diagnosis, she hits the mark on so many levels. She (my son's mother) cared more about going out to nightclubs, was with a different guy each month/year, moved around 15 times in 11 years, has more domestic dispute records than anyone I personally know, 5 child protective services calls against her, was found to be an unfit mother in my state and Florida. She emotionally and psychologically killed my son. Being that Casey is just about the same type as my son's "mother", I say Casey is GUILTY and she should fry, and they should put "Mom" up next in the firing line!!!

By the way, anyone with half a brain can determine that Casey is lying and wanted to get rid of poor little Caylee. Of course, prosecution has to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Casey intentionally and deliberately intended to murder her own daughter. She is a sick twisted piece of trash and hope she gets the death penalty, but without reasonable doubt, she may not get convicted of capitol murder and will at most get life without possibility of parole. Oh yes, and "mom" lost custody of both her kids. Have a nice day 🙂

It is really pathetic that the sampling size is 1. And by extension – any white male can be (sorry will be) a Jeffery Dahmler (spelling?) So the state should lock up all white men – and why not even execute them.. Very scientific. No wonder you guys from FL pick a Republican and sided with the WMD specialist

The prosection did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. There are too many questions that did not get answered. That said, she will get convicted because she is so unlikable. I watched when the jury was picked. All of them said they did not talk to anyone about the case or make any judgements ahead of time. I find that hard to believe.

THE CHLOROFORM THEORY: It is possible that the party-lifestyle mom, tried to use chloroform to sedate her two-year old daughter, while partying. If indeed this were the case, and the daughter died during this procedure; then the confused mom could have driven around with her daughter's body in the trunk of her car. After telling her own Mother of the 'mishap' and her Mother calling 911 (in effect telling the world), Casey then dumps the body in the woods, with or without the help of her father.

They should have recused themselves, or the judge should have excused them from service & replaced them with alternates before sending the jury back to consider a verdict. If convicted, this will be one of the many, many grounds to use for appeal for a new trial, and they'll probably get it. God Bless America.
