Gotta Watch: Judging Casey Anthony case

It's the capital murder case that's held our attention this summer. But has the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally murdered her daughter? The jury is beginning their deliberations today, and now it's your chance to weigh in. You've gotta watch the most pivotal moments from the defense and prosecution and judge for yourself whether Casey Anthony is guilty or innocent.

Prosecuting Casey Anthony – The state of Florida contends Casey Anthony cared more about partying and having a fun life than being a mother. It's her motive for murder, according to prosecutors. They paint her as a liar trying to live the good life at the expense of her daughter.

Defending Casey Anthony – The defense brought molestation allegations against Casey Anthony's father and brother during the trial. It pointed to George Anthony as the real culprit behind the toddler's death and cover-up. Most importantly, Casey Anthony's defense team relied upon the fact that Caylee Anthony's cause of death is undetermined. It believes that's the real reason there's not enough evidence to convict the Florida mother of murder.

She would rather have Caylee dead than give custody to her parents. Haven't you seen the jailhouse tapes of her and George and/or Cindy? She treats them with total disdain, while they coddle her.

Ask yourself this if you think she may be innocent......would you sit in jail for 3 years if your child had drowned accidentally?

I totally agree with your analysis. Casey was hatefull enough towards her mother to KILL her daughter to punish both her parents!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed, she is the worst-case scenario if parents bicker and spoil their child to make up for their own inadequate relationship. They are guilty of nothing in their disfunction. But their daughter decided that a 2nd year late term abortion was okay if it could be hiden well. She didn't realize the wheels of just grind slowly... but exceedingly fine. I think the jury sees through her shennanigans.

Does anyone out there really think that Casey was not molested by dad & brother? Could she really be bi-polar or schizo are even mutible personality? There really is something mentally wrong with this girl . No one sits and keep their composure while listening to the terrible things she was called during the trial. Baez did a great job of presenting doubt.

i don't think she is a victim at all. victims are just that, and they show emotion! hurt, anger, depression, despair and these emotions cannot be harnessed, they surface whenever they want to which is why these victims are often on anti depressants and other nerve pills. she appears to be cold hearted and angry but only about anything said about her. i wonder if anyone on here that has been victims of molestation and incest would not scream it from the rooftop if they felt they were protected now by the authorities. I don't care how much time has past-that pain is always near the surface.

Casey Anthony is 100 % Innocent.
Prosecuting her for murdering a child that never existed,
    what a farce.
    Dont you people understand ?
    Caylee never was real.
Caylee was only real in Caseys mind.
    Actually....we all are.

Most of the public is NOT obsessed with this trial. Only the media is. Several times I was trying to find REAL news on television, but BOTH CNN stations were playing this garbage. Yoohoo... there is more important news out there to be discussed.

The trial helps to keep our minds off of the four wars the USA is now involved with. Also unemployment, high gasoline prices, high priced groceries, etc. If "what is her name" TV show doesn't work, then it is time for another beer and more weed.

After reading so many replies I am not surprised with all the passionate hatred towards Anthony, and to a much lesser degree, her parents. What I am surprised at is many have a fundamental disregard for the rule of law and the procedure that the jurors have to follow. They arent allowed to convict Anthony because they are mad and want VENGEANCE. They arent allowed to convict Anthony because 'if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, smells like a duck ........... They aren't allowed to convict her because she was a remorseless SOB and pathelogical liar and it would serve her right. ' They can't convict her because they figgure she 'musta done somethin.........' .
No sir. They can only convict her if there is actual evidence of murder beyond a reasonable doubt. Not how she acted afterwards. Nor if she is a villiage idiot in general (which i think she is) . People posting here need to realize how the law works. I

I am starting to believe, after watching the trial unfold, that the majority of the Anthony family, except for Caseys' brother, were involved in the death of Caylee Anthony and placement in the woods near the swamp. Watching the testimony from the majority of family members, except Caseys' brother.., the entire whole family are liarers to the core. Casey should not take the fall for the death of Caylee, the entire family, except her brother, should take the fall with Casey Marie Anthony. Talk about, one disfunctional family.., this is one.. Glad they don't live in my town or neighbor. Mike in Montana

I believe she is guilty. You can dance around with "theories" and a day late story that it was an accident but as a mother 31 seconds of my child missing and im in panic mode!!! She is guilty as hell hands down.

No guilty. No evidence to prove her guilty, the prosecution fail to prove their case.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Casey might have been jealous of her dad's love to Caylee? Just look at their back yard! He build a little girl's paradise. Did he do the same for Casey when she was that age?

i have thought that myself. i think she was jealous of caylee as well. i think she did not have a mother-daughter bond with caylee because she didn't want to be a mother and cindy was a great mother to caylee. so since there was no bond, she saw her as more of a little sister and someone who was taking away the money and time and affection from her. evil witch.

I've heard it said that the longer the jury deliberates the higher the chance of the defendant being charged with a lesser charge or going free. So since the jury didn't come back with a verdict today I'm guessing Casey's not going to get slapped with the capital murder charge. I'm hoping I'm and whom I've heard say the above are wrong. Casey and only Casey did this. Like my hero Linda said only Casey benefits from Caylee being gone.

Yes that is true, the quicker the jury reaches a verdict the more likely it is guilty for the highest charge. When the jury takes a long time it generally means there's disagreement amongst the jurors which can lead to compromise (lesser charges) or a hung jury. Its a little early to tell but if not by the end of tomorrow there's not a verdict it will seem to become less and less likely for a 1st degree murder conviction. Though also keep in mind there's alot of evidence and weeks upon weeks of testimony to sort out plus quite a few different charges and some confusing instructions given by the judge so some delay longer than usual may not be any big surprise with this case.

It is sad to see this young woman can't get a fair trial! I think the child died accidently and she tried to cover up, I also think her Dad tried to help her as well.

Brad, thats really a key issue in this trial. Caylee dying accidentally and Casey covering it up is the only other plausible reason for her to dump the body and lie about it. Now remember the only thing that would make someone try to cover up an accidental death would be if they had something to do with it. Take for example, and given the fact that duct tape was found on the body, that Casey was trying to sleep or was drunk coming home from partying and Caylee was crying and Casey just wanted to quiet her but applied too much tape and the child accidentally died. That is about the only other type of situation that would prompt someone to cover up an accidental death. But keep in mind if that was the scenario it also is consider 1st degree murder, more specifically felony murder by aggrevated child abuse and is also potentially punishable by death.

If you drill a hole big enough for yourself, you will fall into it..the bottom line is that a baby is dead. Too many lies to ever find out the truth of how Caylee died. I speculate we will never know the truth. At this point the jury has to disect all of the lies, opinions and theories and determine an outcome that will serve justice for Caylee.
