What's next for Casey Anthony?

Florida mother Casey Anthony was acquitted of all charges Tuesday in the death of daughter Caylee in 2008. But she still faces sentencing Thursday on four counts of lying to police regarding a missing person. What could be in store for her?

Each misdemeanor count carries a maximum sentence of one year in county jail, for which Judge Belvin Perry has the option of sentencing her consecutively or concurrently.

The defense plans to ask Perry that she be sentenced concurrently because the four counts occurred at the same time, defense lawyer Cheney Mason told In Session's Jean Casarez.

Moreover, Mason said, Anthony should receive credit for time served in jail since her arrest in 2008, which would mean she could walk free Thursday.

Where will she go when she leaves state custody? That remains to be seen, but definitely not her parents' home, Mason said.

Anthony can never again be tried for Caylee's death because of the double jeopardy clause of the U.S. Constitution, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said. Nor can prosecutors appeal her acquittal.

What about a civil suit? Anything's possible, but the court declared Anthony indigent in 2009, so she doesn't have much to go after.

As for her parents, George and Cindy Anthony said in a statement issued through their attorney Tuesday that they wished to "move forward privately" and asked the media to respect their privacy.

"While the family may never know what has happened to Caylee Marie Anthony, they now have closure for this chapter of their life. They will now begin the long process of rebuilding their lives."

Casey, as well as her family, will have to live with what was done to that baby. Her parents allowed themselves to be used as whipping boys to get their daughter free. The state should release her now to their home on house arrest. Ha-ha they wanted to do whatever it took to get her off, let them live with it. The prosecution did all they could do, they jury is a bunch of fools who bought into the Casey whirlwind of drama and attention. I'm betting the jury has a grudge or a desire for attention.

What is next? Casey can rejoin her party. A little innocent child is dead and never had a chance, and this is the end. You think sweet loving muther Casey will launch an investigation or have her father charged and indicted? Nope. Gone and forgotten. She will now go out and becaome a billionaire for killing her daughter.

Bobby: My hope is that the whole world will rebuff her and she will have no place to go! She has to live with her lies and hopefully, her family will not take her back after what she has accused them of! Who would ever want to hire her?

I'm afraid that Bobby may have it right. From what we've already seen from the media in this case, I would not be surprised at all if she doesn't end up making a lot of money off of this somehow with her 'story', among other things.

her parents have already said they agree with the verdict. they know their daughter got away with murder – Cindy Anthony perjured herself in the stand to help this along.

i'm sayin the investigators better get on it to find the REAL killer then. i'm sure they are still investigating, right?? because this is an unsolved murder case.

You said it perfectly Bobby! My sentiments exactly! I am still sickened by this verdict. OJ #2! They call this justice? Certainly not for little Caylee! I believe the courts need to re-word the part where they say," beyond a reasonable doubt." Anybody can put their own twist to a story and make it believable. Where did the REASONABLE part come in with this jury????? What an injustice!

How ironic that Casey will probably get out of jail before the poor guy that shot a bird at the prosecutor. How sad is that????

Why is it that the majority of us continue to ignore one very simple fact...there was absolutely NO DNA evidence of Casey Anthony ANYWHERE near the remains or on the remains of Caylee? That always stood out for me in the biggest way...and the George Anthony owning the duct tape, gas can, prior law enforcement training...duh...he has never been tried?

I feel that the jury decided the case on the evidence and not emotion. Atticus Finch would have approved.

We the people....justice is served...the system works... I am sick of this stance. We still have a unsolved crime (MURDER)(ACCIDENTAL DEATH), however you wish to classify it. Who will follow-up on this "who done it" crime? Further, the Fl. Dept of Children & Families MUST take responsibility to child abuse and neglect. Whether "accidental drowning" or "murder", a family member, someone, neglected to protect Caylee's wellbeing and watch over her and protect her from neglect, harm and/or abuse and her death. We have a child that allegedly drowned due to someone not watching her. We have a child that was presumed missing and dead and it was never reported by mother or family in a reasonable matter or time. This shouldn't be the end or this SOCIETY is a crime.

After OJ, I think the C Anthony NOT GUILTY verdict is the most unjust in history and it would seem the majority of the public agree with me. However most believe her motive to be the sole desire to rid of herself of the small child she believed to be a hinderance to her hedonistic, narcississtic lifestyle. I think that's a true interpretation of her motives but I believe there's actually a more important motivation than that singular reasoning. C. ANTHONY WAS RABIDLY JEALOUS OF CAYLEE. She stepped into Casey's lifelong game of -what she thought would be seen as 'charming' manipulation' she always got away with- but which of course were the lies and machinations of a stone sociopath. And she had a nicely running operation all her life – complete control of that family. But Caylee was too cute, too smart, and too loving and KC was losing her power to a two year old .My good guess would be that she has destroyed anyone who got in her way all her life. If she'd had a sister, the girl would not have made it past infancy. I dont think Ive ever heard of a more vile, evil human being than Casey Anthony.

Im so glad they found her not guilty... Now detectives will be forced to do their jobs right and not give the states att a garbage case with bs forensics and hope to win on anger and emotion I said for the last 3 weeks that this was a trash job for the ada no weapon no scene no cod no CONVICTION
I know I sound heartless but stop blaming the defense and the jury by law the jury got it right blame the.real ppl at fault the csi the detectives ... And maybe they will do a good job and next time they will get it right. In not saying I think casey is innocent but the ada did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she murdered anyone let alone abused or commited a felony during her death.... When did she die... Where did she die.. How did she die... No answers NO CONVICTION
