Casey Anthony's acquittal on first-degree murder charges may be one of the most surprising trial outcomes in at least a decade. The Florida mom may have escaped with only misdemeanor convictions, but her acquittal is drawing comparisons to another high-profile murder trial: O.J. Simpson's.
O.J. Simpson escapes murder conviction – Police suspected Simpson murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in June 1994. The case dominated headlines and was must-see television. Between Simpson's infamous low-speed car chase, the trial's intriguing cast and a dream team full of legal heavyweights, the former NFL superstar was able to avoid conviction. O.J. showed signs of relief and joy when he learned his fate.

Outside the courtroom tensions arose. Some cheered "The Juice's" acquittal while others were stunned and suspected his fame and fortune allowed him to get away with murder.

Jury acquits Robert Blake – "Baretta" helped make Robert Blake a star, but it was a murder accusation that launched him into the headlines again. Blake was accused of killing his wife, Bonny Lee Bakely, in 2001. Blake always maintained his innocence and, in 2005, a jury agreed, finding the actor not guilty of murder. When the jury announced the verdict, Blake began sobbing.

Rodney King verdict sparks riots – Los Angeles already was rife with racial tension before the Rodney King incident. But the allegations of excessive force by white police officers were caught on tape. That had many thinking they'd never be acquitted. Jurors surprised the city and the nation by acquitting all but one of the officers. The verdict proved to be the spark that ignited a powder keg of strained racial relations. Riots broke out in the city's most urban areas and even the president had to get involved.

Fans rally behind Michael Jackson – Child molestation allegations again surrounded Michael Jackson in 2005, resulting in a criminal trial. While some were surprised the King of Pop was found not guilty, his enthusiastic fans never doubted his innocence. They rallied behind him, cheering his victory. One person even released a white dove for each not guilty verdict.

I think she just an example of the saying "rather have 5 guilty men walkk than 1 innocent person suffer" our system isnt perfect but its lasted and i think its crazy how millions of cases could be just as bad but no one cares ppl get screwd over all the time and no one throws a fit i dont like how the media picks and chooses what america should care about
Casey...
You are more than welcome to come to Las Vegas...
Let us take care of you like we did OJ!!
Obviously he wasn't taken care of very well. He made a big splash with jail. Be careful what you ask for.
Shame on the CNN, HLN, and CourTV talking heads who have spun this for the ignorant so they are making irrational conclustions about the court's decision. If there is fault, it is the State of Florida that failed at basic levels to prove the case against the girl. The talking heads are running dogs for TV ratings, simple as that. Talking heads, leave the jurors alone.
Exactly sambo pete its a shame she was found not guilty by her peers and people want to see her dead and there is a nut case out there that will probably try. All of these news stations need to let it go florida didn't prove their case period
@ Michelle!!! She deserves to burn in hell and sadly for u, u two may share a room. There is a hell and Jesus is real! He will be the ultimate judge for her and for u. However, I will do my part as a christian and pray for u.
As a "Christian"how could u feel u have the right to deem her to hell? Really? As a Christian why don't we pray for her...she's been judged by her peers now let's sit back, let go of what we can't control and let God love on her which btw Is the true Christian thing to do, my love. Because when it's the end for her she'll only have to answer to one whether she was found guilty or not guilty.
Ahaha nd ill have a black mass for ur crazy ass
The system works the jurors did there duty . the state didnt prove there case period. and to to all of you saying about casey not reporting cayle missing why didnt george or cindy was that not where they where living ? I think the whole family was in on whatever happen to cayle .
At Algore. I see you are still a bitter man over 2000. Poor soul. I bet you make it a point to never stop in Florida. Then again this trial took place and the murder took place in a part of Florida overtaken by migrants from the Northeastern US. So those were your voters ALGORE... the same ones who were too stupid to figure out who was on the damn ticket. Good thing your voters are so stupid Al. Their incompetence won us a president keen on the world politic and Islamic threat instead of foccusing on a sheme out of the University of East Anglia... that place which often was the butt of many a Monty Python gag. Then again your voters made this trial a media circus the same as your voters did with OJ in California. And your voters also made up the clowns on the jury... AGAIN JUST LIKE THEY DID IN CALIFORNIA. GO DIE QUIETLY YOU INCONVENIENT OLD MAN AND TAKE YOUR BULLCRAP WITH YOU!
We are so quick to judge its a shame. more then half of the people out there had casey guilty before she went to trial. Based off the media covarage and what FACTS they got from the prosecution. The way the media handled this gave only more fuel to the people to have her all ready gulity. The prosecution was in such a tail spin from the high profile it recieved that the evidence they had clearly wasnt enough or could be linked to her. The defense took the time to do their work to shatter what evidence the prosecution had. You have to have evidence that clearly puts you at the time of the crime or reason to have commited the crime. So the jury could see what was and what wasn't. What happened to innocent till PROVEN GUlITY? It doesn' work that way it's GULITY till proven INNOCENT. I can't say if she did or didn't. I wasn't there as all of you were't there. However, it 's so easy to judge her not knowing really anything other what we see on T.V. or hear on the radio. God knows and will handle it accordinly.
Everybody mad at Casey except me. I know shes guity just like everybody else, its the jury that messed up. Thats who im mad at! I will date Casey and do her soooo wrong, it'll be slow and painful:'-(
i'm not sure if she's'guilty or not but you gotta trust the justice department.
King was in the wrong.......those in the car weren't hit because they followed instructions.....he hot what he had coming to him...the riots were just an exuse for his fellow welfare unta mench to trash and steal from us working tax paying citizens....
First of all what innocent person waits 31 days to report their 2 yr old child missing??? oh yeah thats right Casey Anthony does... she is GUILTY AND BOAT LOADS OF MONEY SHE DONT HAVE TO PAY HER LAWYER JACK HE DID IT PRO BONO SO HE COULD GET HIS NAME OUT THERE. ... TO CASEY ANTHONY YOUR JUDGEMENT DAY WILL COME AND I HOPE CAYLEE IS WAITING AT THE GATES OF HEAVEN WHEN THE GOOD LORD TURNS YOU AWAY AND SENDS YOUR BABY KILLER BUTT DOWN TO THE PITS OF HELL.....
There is nothing we can do or say here with what happened i think theres only one person knows what to do and thats god so leave it up to him
I think. Every one should leave her alone. She found not guit and every one should drop it. It's over stop dwelling on it. If you Whant to be mad at some one. Be mad at the people that let her go. Found her not guilt. That what I think.
