Casey Anthony's acquittal on first-degree murder charges may be one of the most surprising trial outcomes in at least a decade. The Florida mom may have escaped with only misdemeanor convictions, but her acquittal is drawing comparisons to another high-profile murder trial: O.J. Simpson's.
O.J. Simpson escapes murder conviction – Police suspected Simpson murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in June 1994. The case dominated headlines and was must-see television. Between Simpson's infamous low-speed car chase, the trial's intriguing cast and a dream team full of legal heavyweights, the former NFL superstar was able to avoid conviction. O.J. showed signs of relief and joy when he learned his fate.

Jury acquits Robert Blake – "Baretta" helped make Robert Blake a star, but it was a murder accusation that launched him into the headlines again. Rodney King verdict sparks riots – Los Angeles already was rife with racial tension before the Rodney King incident. But the allegations of excessive force by white police officers were caught on tape. That had many thinking they'd never be acquitted. Jurors surprised the city and the nation by acquitting all but one of the officers. The verdict proved to be the spark that ignited a powder keg of strained racial relations. Riots broke out in the city's most urban areas and even the president had to get involved.

Fans rally behind Michael Jackson – Child molestation allegations again surrounded Michael Jackson in 2005, resulting in a criminal trial. While some were surprised the King of Pop was found not guilty, his enthusiastic fans never doubted his innocence. They rallied behind him, cheering his victory. One person even released a white dove for each not guilty verdict.

Nancy, there is alot of controversy surronding the Casey Anthony verdict so I would like to express my thoughts on the matter. I would first like to say that there are alot of idiots associated with this case and I would like to break it down for you and why I feel the way that I do. You have a young mother who murdered her child, no doubt about it! Jose Baez in my opinion is a inexperienced idiot! He is bi-polar and someone should get him some help fast! I mean Damn! He hopped around in the court room accusing everyone who didn't see things the way he did liars! He made accusations he couldn't back up or prove so who again is the Liar? Chaney Mason, How old are you? He could have exercised a little more professionalism, flipping off the media! I ask again how old are you? Grow up Mason!! I mean really! Your celebration should have been done quietly not a display of ignorance. They should have respected people, he knew that there were a lot of angry people. But, after all he is a sleezy defense attorney so why would he care? The 12 jurors who did just as Linda Burdick had feared, Common sense was lost somewhere in the verdict process. Those 12 juror have the blood of Caylee on their hands, they have to deal with the consequences of their decision and I have no sympathy for them. And all the people who are slamming the media, leave the media alone they are just as upset as we are and all they are trying to do is help us to understand what happened and keep them honest! Last but not least, all the idiots that are sending death threat to the people involved with this case, Cmon people how much of a low life do you have to be? Harming anyone directly related to this case makes you no better than Casey Anthony! Don't you people know that you are threatening to do to people the very thing you are angry at Casey Anthony for! what sense does that make. You don't have to committ a crime to make your point so again grow up! The best thing for us to do is turn our backs on Casey Anthony, if she is going to make money from this we as a country should not watch, buy, read anything that will make her money that is what you do. Not Violence! I have already Boycotted ABC I will not give ABC one minute of my time because they interviewed Jose Baez, I will be the first in line to buy a book by Jeff Ashton or Linda Drane Burdick and that is it! As far as Casey Anthony, WHO? she is not worth one small glimmering of thought, she is trash and always will be, but trust me she will be dealt with by a higher power! no doubt, Far worse than anything we could ever do to her. Honor Caylee in a respectful way she deserves it! after all isn't she the reason we are so angry? Love one another and stop this madness. You don't need evidence to see she doesn't have a heart!! Did casey drop one tear during the trial?..NO SHE DID NOT" Her mother and father did though. Why would someone make up so many lies about where their child was? She didn't even help look for her baby girl! If my daughter came up missing i sure as hell wouldn't be out at a night club or having a hot body contest! These people who want evidence to prove this killer innocent should FIND THEIR HEART & OPEN THEIR EYES!
This may sound harsh, the jury wanted to go home. A guilty would have meant more time on duty
She is not a mother . she is a murder. she dont deserve to be a mother. she dont deserve to have children. she needs to grow up and get out of diapers. if she is pregnant the state needs to take it so she never sees the kid. she makes me sick. she is sick in the head.

She might have a huge smirk on her face thinking she has just gotten away with murder but there is someone higher than us that knows the truth and the scariest part is that we will someday have to face him in judgement day !
The fact that a lightning strike struck a tree near where Caylees remains were found shocks me, something tells me the angels are very upset that Caylee has no justice..just by looking at Caseys face, it was obvious she murdered her child. There was evidence that showed Casey did it, the tattoo, everything, that's evidence.
I was clearly shocked when they announced the verdict. So many things that she did pointed to her guilt. Come on why would someone take a entire month to contact police if their child was missing. I know that even if i could not see my child for 5 minutes I would go crazy. Caylee was 2 years old a baby what kind of mother would not be worried. How about the objects they found in the mothers car? Why did she go partying when her child was missing. There must be a bigger story to this. Sadly whats going to happen is she will sell her story just like O.J Simpson did for money. And of course there will be some people that will go pay money for such trash. Hopefully if not this time some how if she really did kill her daugher justice will be served. Look at O.J he is how in jail for up to 33 years.
Now Cnn I dont understand why you are connecting the Michael Jackson trial to this? Michael Jacksons case had no concret evidence to convict him of any crime. Plus his had nothing to do with murder. If you forgot look up the FBI.gov even the government could not find anything. The childrens families were trying to extort money from him. I just think the connection is wrong.
Anyway hopefully some how there will be justice for little Caylee. May she rest in peace her light will shine on forever.
Well, i dont know much bout life, for i am a 17 year old, and i cannot say i cheerish or deserve life, except from the sacrifice of Jesus, please as you read this understand that, judge others and you will be judged the same by God, let Him do the punishment His way, and her life isn't decided yet, for life can change in a matter of a moment. If she accepts Christ her life and changes it, then Christ will accept her, and that goes for everyone. WWJD?

I'd like to pose a few question to everyone who is angry that Casey Anthony wasn't convicted. How much of HLN's nighttime programming do you watch? Have you done an actual fact check on all the evidence presented in this case? Would you like our justice system to function in a way that convicts people on the content of their character, or with actual evidence? – I ask these questions, because it seems to me that talking heads like Nancy Grace (who was in several ethical disputes with the court system during her time as a prosecutor), convicted this woman years ago. Also, the "blame" for the acquittal can be attributed as directly to the news coverage as any of the courtroom proceedings. People like Ms. Grace riled the public into such a frenzy that the District Attorney, had no choice but to go for the most severe of charges or face trial in the court of public opinion himself. Our justice system is based on a simple concept, it is better to let the guilty go free, than to convict someone who is innocent. The same burden of proof that allowed Casey Anthony to be acquitted, protects us all from wrongful imprisonment and sham trials. Caylee Anthony is dead, she cares not for justice or vengeance.
