Maryland interstate closed after reports of gunman

Maryland State Police have closed Interstate 295 in Anne Arundel County  in both directions after receiving multiple reports of a man armed with a rifle or shotgun along the highway.

Police say the suspect is a white male between 50 and 60 years old and wearing a black-and-red flannel shirt and blue jeans.

The suspect may have been using a hammer to break into a parked vehicle near the intersection of I-295 and Route 195, police said.

There is no I-295 in Anne Arundel County. Along that stretch, 295 AKA the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (or the Gladys Noon Spellman Parkway) is a state highway that's patrolled by the national park police.

I-195 is an interstate, though. Thanks for messing up both of those roads.

Seriously, did you guys even bother to look at a map?

actually the section of I195 @ 295s is considered Anne Arundel Co. that is why the Anne Arundel Police cars are in the photo. I live in baltimore and travel along I295 regularly. Also quick research for you: study the chart in the wiki.

That's definitely AACo. & MSP in the photograph. That must be north of where the national park police patrol.

He's most likely an American citizen. American citizens murder about 100 fellow Americans per day. So he's probably from the USA somewhere.

@Shyla...the Casey blahg is over there. But while you are here, do you think they'll ever find the real killer? Did they even bother to look for the person who murdered OJ's wife? Obviously, the judge in the Anthony case agrees that she's innocent, or a mistrial would have been declared. No doubt this judge has already started the ball rolling to find the real killer.

I have no idea if they will ever find the real killer but the fact still remains that someone killed both of them. It's unfortunate that the prosecution was just weak.

Shot gun in one hand. sledge hammer in the other. He shot up and hammered a speed enforcement vehicle. You know, one of those jeeps with an automatic camera. How many times did you want to do that?

Where in VA? At the very least, from 95N, you can take 97N. Get off at the exit for 170-Telegraph Road. Drive straight and you'll get there. Very little traffic goes that way as well...although today could be different...
