Police: Suspect in 7 Michigan slayings kills himself

A man who held several people hostage in Grand Rapids, Michigan, killed himself, Police Chief Kevin Belk said Thursday night.

The man, identified as Rodrick Dantzler, is suspected of killing seven people, including two children.

He ran into a home after a roughly 15-minute chase from the police and a standoff ensued, before he shot himself to death, police said.

Ridiculous! Why do these people have to go after innocent people??? Can't they target someone who deserves it?? Casey Anthony comes to mind... RIP to all the victims.

Casey Anthony was found not guilty. Explain why she deserves something like that? The prosicution in that case couldn't prove she did it, which means there is a chance she didn't. So, unless you know something they don't or you think you could do a better job, lay off the judgement.

Seems to me that Ms. Anthony was found not guilty by a jury of her peers that was approved by both she and the state attorney of Florida. Why then, are you advocating the slaughter of innocent people. Not guilty = innocent in the US of A. Don't like it? Change the laws.

Not guiltly means just that: not guilty. The law defines "guilty" as "The state of being deemed responsible for the commission of a crime, either as a result of a plea or the adjudication of a judge or jury." The law makes no claims as to her innocence.

Too all you goodie 2 shoes respondents, OJ was Not Guilty too, but guess what ? He did it, and so did Casey. She is off because the jury felt it could be an accident, which was never proven and the Judge even told them that an accident was not a consideration as suggested by her lawyer Baez. This woman is guilty as sin, and only most of you, a blind person and her jury didn't see it.

Exactly. And DN3 is quite hypocritical with his spew above. In one sentence, he refers to innocent people, then says that CA would have been a suitable target. How about G.W. Bush? Now there's a suitable target that isn't innocent!

Thanks to Jose my jury was rigged with morons and although the jury was too incompetent to understand reasonable doubt, i will not be held accountable for the death of my child, whether thru negligence or malicious intent. i agree that some serial killer or nut should target me since I truly deserve it regardless of what 12 pinheads think.

AZ Yankee: You seem to possess some sort of evidence or proof to contradict the results of 2 infamous court cases. Why are you now speaking up? Where were you weeks ago when you and your esteemed information could have changed the fate of one defendant? Sit down and shut up. Go sniff some more of that Arizona dust.

@David, are you really that obtuse? You think that 12 pinheads who misconstrue reasonable doubt and who are unable to connect the dots and deduce the truth by rendering a dubious verdict which at best serves as a perfect example of a travesty of justice equates to me being innocent? I am guilty in reality just not according to 12 morons. Juries, like you, are examples of the mediocrity that has become America to a large degree. Enjoy, i know i will.

      @Sambo:

not guilty in legalese means that the burden of proof has not been met, for example, a theist claims that god exists but the atheist rejects this claim due to insufficient evidence.

not innocent has no legal definition, just colloquial usage which for most rational minded people means that although evidence may be lacking to definitively prove to 12 morons of someone's obvious guilt, the person is more than likely the culprit but will not be held legally accountable.

in closing, since the atheist is correct about the non existence of a supernatural being, there will be no judgement of myself when i die so in effect i will never be held accountable unless somebody targets my guilty @ss in this one and only life. get it dumbo?

the only way you can put people in jail and prison is if people break the law so you do want people to break the law unlike you say because you do put people in jail and prison. or dont listen to what daddy says thing huh pshh .. this foo 'dont break the law, but if i really didnt want you too i wouldnt put people in jail and prison cuz u have to for me too' shouldnt break the law. dont listen to what they say then refering to 'unlike you say' = dont listen to what we say than ibetchya i can even say this stuff and it has nothing to do with the law still... let me guess it doesnt matter if i tell you not to break it or not you shouldnt... so you want people to break the law than... best believe its cuz their completely terrified of hell, once it kinda licks what their doing... their in hell.

  8. MI Lawyer

MI is not, technically, a three strikes state. A felon, upon his third conviction for a HIGH SEVERITY felony (class A, B, C, or D) can be sentenced to life or any term of years regardless of the crime. That is not the case for a felony that falls into a lower crime class. So really, you're both right (sort of).

It's likely that Bush will be rated as one of the worst presidents ever. Bush was a bumbling failure at almost everything he impacted. He likely left the worst mess that any president has left with the possible exception of Hoover.
