No plea deal, no guilty plea, attorney for Strauss-Kahn says

Former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn won't accept any plea bargain and "won't plead guilty to anything," William Taylor, an attorney representing him in a sexual assault case, said Thursday.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, is accused of having attempted to rape the maid when she entered his suite at the Sofitel off Times Square on May 14 to clean it.

On Wednesday, attorneys for Strauss-Kahn said that the defense team had a "constructive meeting" with prosecutors, who maintained that they are not ready to drop sexual abuse and attempted rape charges even after questions were raised about the accuser's credibility.

"The investigative process is continuing, and no decisions have been made," said Manhattan District Attorney spokeswoman Erin Duggan.

The two-hour meeting came just days after prosecutors disclosed credibility issues regarding the hotel maid who accused Strauss-Kahn of sexually attacking her.

I agree with his lawyers. He should also sue NY for false arrest. Casey Anthony murdered a 2 year old and will end up a millionaire. This guiy did nothing compared to her.

His lawyers are of the same mould as Killer-Marie Anthony's ... "defence", which means they "defend" their "client" even though they know their "client" is as guilty as hell. It astounds me how anyone can "defend" such types ... but them again, "defence" lawyers (along with many other kinds of lawyers) undergo a morelectomy whilst at law school. That, and how to be totally arrogant and egotistical. I hope also that Strauss-Kahn't-keep-his-hands-off is paying his own way in this case.

"Casey Anthony murdered a 2 year old and will end up a millionaire."

So you're the one that's got all the proof that the State of Florida was looking for?

@Andy: a criminal defense attorney is not there to make moral judgments on their clients. They are not approving or condoning whatever crimes their clients might have done. They are doing a professional job of getting the best possible outcome for their clients, end of story.

Andy... you should become a prosecutor since you have all this irrefutable evidence that Casey Anthony and Dominique Strauss-Kahn are guilty... There was no evidence that Casey Anthony killed her child... whether we like the outcome or not... there was no evidence that proved she killed her daughter. The prosecution can't even prove the cause of death, let alone that Casey Anthony murdered her. We live in a democracy and one of our most treasured values is liberty. As such, the government can't throw you in prison or sentence you to death unless they have evidence that proves you are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Is it perfect? No! However, even with that high burden of proof are there STILL thousands of innocent people sitting in prison right now for crimes they didn't commit? Absolutely!

If they drop the charges, then every woman in NY will have to hide in fear of all the empowered rapists.

He should sue her for false accusations. It's amazing that someone can try to ruin someones life for money, then when they find out it was all made up, they just drop it like it was no big deal.

How did you find out that it was all made up? Because the rich and powerful DKS has circulated false rumors about his victim? Get a clue.

You must be joking. These people come to US to milk the system for free. This woman would disappear as expulsion and deportation is the only course to follow. People who gained access to US on lies and theatrics should not be allowed to remain. Bringing a civil action against her would bring no recovery but it may delay her deportation.

Agreed! Knowing, however, how "justice" works, he'll walk away scot free, and probably sue (and get) lots of $. Pity, as he truly is a philanderer of the highest order.

NY's DA is wasting tax payers money on a ball game which in essense they have admitted they lost. The DA's Office has to recalibrate their ethos and understand that they administer a Trust. The good name that Elliot Spintzer treasured is wasted by class elites whose only distinguished exception is the family they come from. They destroy reputations and make sure that they do a good job of it but improperly informing that press and pavarazzi to join in the frenzy. Shame on Vance. Would his illustrious father have behaved in this manner?

Why do you defend rapists who have left behind copious physical evidence, even though you're just an ignorant spectator?

Explain why he leaves his cell phone at the hotel in a rush, gets on a same-day unscheduled flight to France (this guy has a schedule, duh), cops come and arrest him on the plane and he doesn't even ask why he is being arrested. Then you have DNA evidence that DSK made physical contact with the hotel maid. Guilty beyond the shadow of a doubt.

It is amazing how men and women take such opposite views on this case, even though we know very little about exactly what happened. This says more about the hostility between men and women in this country than anything about this case. No wonder our relationships don't work. Men and women just hate each other!

You people are all lost in your own sick personal agenda's to see reality. This man was obviously set up by the federal government. A high profile person like this is not just arested over accuisations from some street bimbo. Straus Khaun was pushing to crash the American Dollar for some international currency. No there you have it, so all you sicko's can go back to sleep.

New World Order idiots. Wake up, you people are still being fooled because you are watching too much T.V. You don't know game when you see it. And as far as the Casey Anthony comparison, please give me a break LOL .... that stupid jury tactic that they have been using to convict African Americans for years just backfired on them. You put people on a jury with no medical background, no forinsic pethology back ground, no experience in investigations, and think that this jury is credible? Please, these stupid jurors can't even spell half the words they hear in court. The defense usually have no specialist and the prosecutor is putting astraunots on the stand. There you have it, now all of you idiots can go back to sleep.

Always taking the side a lying black woman(non American but South African) Its DUKE all over agian and this country will owe him tens of millions or more and she will go back to Africa with a slap of the wrists.

Do you live in pleasantville where even thing is sunny and 70 degrees? Is it possible that yes they slept together but she decided to set the guy up because he has $? He's old? The timeline brings doubt in her story that all this could happen and this old man can have bodily fluid all over the hotel. G Girl set DSK up. He fell for it trying to get a cheap thrill. Work it out outside the courts.
