Julie Collins of Mission Viejo, California, was just 18 when she met Princess Diana in April of 1990.
Today, the 39-year-old brought a picture of that chance meeting - as well as her daughter, nieces, sister and sister-in-law - to downtown Los Angeles in hopes of meeting the late Princess Diana's son, Prince William and his wife, Catherine.
William and Catherine's last day in California
She waited seven hours for the chance to meet Princess Di. Today, she only had to wait a little over four hours.
Alas, this time there was no actual meeting, but she did get a glimpse of the glamorous royal couple as the motorcade carrying the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sped by.
Collins' 9-year-old daughter, Emily, is wearing the same crown that Collins wore when she met Princess Di. Collins is pseudo-royalty herself, as she got the "jeweled" headpiece when she was crowned a junior prom queen.
Everyone in her entourage is a die-hard royal fan. The only day of school Emily missed last year was the day of the royal wedding, when she stayed home to watch with her family.
Sydney DeCesare, 14, is visiting her cousins from New Jersey and was so excited when she heard the couple's visit would coincide with her annual summer vacation - "it's an unbelievable moment."
Mari Campopiano, 12, was anxious to see Will and Kate and had hoped they stop and that they would actually get to meet face-to-face. But even without that personal encounter, they all were having a fun family moment on the hunt for royals.
Who cares??? I understand to a point but really....? Especially Kate, she did absolutely nothing for her role or power. If I happen to see them on the street I would say hello but my god, 7 hours for Dianna and 4 hours for william. It makes me sick.
They are going to hound them just like they did his mother and father. Hopefully William will be a better protector than Charles was.
Charles was too busy eating camilla's bean pie.
So true.
not me. the english are snaggletoothed freaks. want a pretty girl look towards sweden. especially around graduation time. you would be suprised.
OMG I'm getting a bone her just reading this r u serious. Hang on I need more wet wipes for this occasion. Honey hello honey where the heck is the lotion. Dang gon it I need the lotion now. Well it's to late now just bring the darn towel.
ALL of us media included need to get off the celebrity kick. It's BS. Work toward equality instead of idolizing fame or fortune, especially when undeserved.
Who cares, when's Kate's s x tape coming out preferably the one with her sister not William Come on CNN, inquiring minds want to know.
*That's* what i'm sayin..
ok, keeping it moving..
Some reason my first post was taken off, so here it goes again. Nothing to see here folks, let's move it along.
*Sigh*
